screw you, michigan and wisconsin
Didn't visit Wisconsin once (wanted to keep some character traits), might have touched PA once but OH was the toughest cat and I thought if i took that one down the other 3 would get shook and fall in line

Lol if you intentionally tank as Lincoln, you can get the fun scenario I just did where four candidates get electoral votes and nobody gets a majority
― sorry for butt rockin (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 11 February 2020 20:31 (four years ago) link
Hell yeah, I trounced Nixon in '68 running a pretty leftward campaign and shit talking Nixon whenever possible.

I wonder if there's any way to win as Nader...
― Οὖτις, Tuesday, 11 February 2020 21:07 (four years ago) link
The one time I did it, I got 0 electoral votes lol
― sorry for butt rockin (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 11 February 2020 21:08 (four years ago) link
I just did it, got zero electoral votes... and Gore won!
― Οὖτις, Tuesday, 11 February 2020 21:14 (four years ago) link
Yeah when I tried Nader I got zero electoral votes, like 2% popular vote. Gore did win though.

Got Humphrey to wallop Nixon 362-131 in 68, visits to the south must have made the difference.
― Dan Worsley, Tuesday, 11 February 2020 21:33 (four years ago) link
I spent a lot of time in Texas in '68
― justice 4 CCR (Sparkle Motion), Tuesday, 11 February 2020 21:46 (four years ago) link
got no electoral majority as humphrey, probably not a great outcome

I leaked that Nixon sabotaged the peace talks, and that put me over the finish line. I felt conflicted about choosing Kennedy as my running mate, but figured that likely changed history to prevent Mary Jo Kopechne's death, so was mollified.

I find this really hard to believe!
― Οὖτις, Thursday, 13 February 2020 16:07 (four years ago) link
There must be a glitch people can exploit cos it def seems to be the buggiest election. Nader kept getting 0 votes yesterday and when i looked at the stats panel the formatting is off.
It said 1% of Nader voters had won and somehow someone achieved all 538 EVs which hasn't happened on like any other election

what was your strategy?
― Οὖτις, Thursday, 13 February 2020 20:51 (four years ago) link
the combo that finally worked was using Gore & going relentlessly negative at nearly every opportunity. I concentrated mainly on visiting Texas, Missouri, Ohio & Michigan. Of the 4 I only won Michigan but that plus the coasts was enough to eke out electoral victory.
― justice 4 CCR (Sparkle Motion), Thursday, 13 February 2020 20:57 (four years ago) link
Won in 2000 with Gore/Kerry 307-231. Kerry peeled off lefter leaning voters, I went hard on the “hold your nose” vote, CLIMATE CHANGE. Florida was solid blue.Won in 2016 with Clinton/Warren 338-200. Lots of class politics (lol), getting Obama to help gtvo, and I won fucking Utah and Nevada.
― hyds (gyac), Sunday, 16 February 2020 10:11 (four years ago) link
Balls, pressed post before I could finish. Still can’t win with Dukakis but my highest was around 230 EC votes - which I thought was awful until I saw how many he got irl.
― hyds (gyac), Sunday, 16 February 2020 10:12 (four years ago) link
Just won as Hillary, with Booker as running mate; brought Sanders out as much as possible while staying moderate/vague on most issues and going negative on Trump.
