In this initial stage, I was fixated on the number 100 instead of 101. Then, towards the end of development, when we had to decide on the official title, the client said: "We'd like you to get a little more creative with the title. For example...what about adding one more to the number?"

I kind of feel like the Switch Animal Crossing might deserve its own thread.

Anyway, the “trouble with neighbours” thread on ILE made me imagine an intentionally adversarial, passive-aggressive version of this, and Stardew Valley, etc

I'm sure I read about (an urban myth maybe?) game where you have buried a number of bodies in your garden and have to get on with your neighbours ala animal crossing while making sure that no one digs up your garden and finds out the truth. But I've just searched and can't find anything about it.

it didn't make my shortlist of 2020 games i'm allowing myself to buy before finishing my dozen backlogged games. 8 out of 10

this will be the first animal crossing game i've ever played, and i will accept nothing less than the greatest animal crossing game of all time. this is that game. 9.8 out of 10

or wherever you keep your garden, that is. i assume that's the backyard, given your situation there

the thing is, the worse thing i'd do to anyone's backyard, if i were that kind of person, is maybe dig a hole and bury a body, if one wasn't already there. or to just add a body to the whatever was back there. that's all. #no6footfences #goodfencesmakeungoodneighbors

i'm gonna be so disappointed if you can't bury bodies in animal crossing. if that's the case i alter my prereview to 9.2/10

I have't touched my Switch in months, tbh. Which is probably for the best, since my kid will be playing Animal Crossing on it soon enough.

just gimme a release date for any first party game beyond this week thats all i want to see. one is enough

seriously. also, I know it is just a few days away, but all things considered they should just bump up the animal crossing release and surprise everybody.

walked into the room on saturday with the youngest (7yo) playing Captain Toad, but having some issues.

I was able to grab a controller and change the settings to '2 player- assist', then help him out with a few levels and have fun.

then had to go and do adult stuff and handed him back the controller and he went back to playing single player

it was such an easy and frictionless way of doing things, I just dont really see any other manufacturer putting in the time and effort to be inclusive.

that Mario Lego looks awful though, going to steer the kids away from that white elephant...

indie direct was a total whiff for me this time

Saw a suggestion that since Amazon is prioritizing stocking perishables, emergency stuff and other much needed supplies that those who ordered physical copies of Animal Crossing may get their deliveries late.

offering a digital delivery option (with potential hard copy later) would be a good option; obviously this is low priority stuff

not really much you can do this late in the distribution process unless you want to just give the game out for free

they can't figure out how to send one-time download codes to physical purchasers?

Their digital purchase system doesn’t work that way so they’d have to implement a whole new thing

Just downloaded the Dragon Quest XI demo. Have only got through the intro cinematic and already feel like this is the game for me right now. A hug from your dear departed grandmother couldn't be more comforting.

amazon could do it out of their stock of download codes if thats what you mean. nintendo doesn't know who preordered physical copies

but thats not gonna happen so if your copy doesnt ship by tomorrow you can just cancel and buy digitally

I heard that Switch sales are way up, and stores are selling out again. For obvious reasons.

In unrelated news, with the release of AC I think Nintendo now has literally no first party games on its release schedule.
