letting a guy from the front office that has wasted like 10 first round picks in a row come to your team and convince you to trade your first round pick for one of his busted draft picks. trust the process.

the two players picked immediately after kennard were donovan mitchell and bam lol

i don't understand it at all. he wouldn't start for them, wouldn't help them on defense, and is going to get paid like $15M a year soon.

idk if cashing in your first round pick for luke kennard makes sense for the suns. like, if the pistons are dumping kennard bcuz they have svi — a mid second round pick — perhaps that should tell the suns something about how replaceable the skill set is. plus you have to pay kennard a bunch of money after next season, i’d rather just have the 10th pick or whatever and take a crack at finding another luke kennard (can it be that hard?) that i can have on a rookie deal for 4 years.

agree but i think the suns are in the we need so start putting actual players around booker and cant just keep drafting every year and wait 3 seasons for each to develop. i think they are beginning to worry that booker is gonna pull a Brow at any given moment here. but as we know this is not a good way to run a team.

we never really got to see if the boogie/brow pairing was going to work. i had doubts but I wanted to see them together in the playoffs cos it maaaaaybe could have.

in the their attempt to show anthony davis they were a competitive franchise by putting "real" players around the pelicans also did stuff like trade a first round pick for omer asik and then give him a huge contract, give huge contracts to solomon hill and e'twuan moore. you can't run a franchise that way. you just have to make good decisions. trying to trick your players into believing you're competent isn't going to work.

the wizards are apparently looking to buy bcuz they're 5 games out of the 8 seed and want to show bradley beal that they're a serious franchise. it never ends.

nba thinking: let's hire an ex-player just out of the league with no front office experience as our GM and then let him hire a guy from one of the worst front offices in basketball to trade our first round pick for an offense only sixth man with tendinitis in both knees, in order to demonstrate competence to our star player

i feel like it's not that luke kennard is being shopped as much as a guy who used to work for the pistons is maybe convincing his new team to overpay for kennard and so the pistons are like, ok?

nuggs getting kennard for their first makes a lot more sense than the suns

i was gonna say that something that would make sense would be gary harris for kennard and salary filler, cuz the nuggets could move off his money, get a player who can shoot, and the pistons would prob roll the dice on harris' contract in the hopes he would flourish in an offense oriented around him

harris was a good shooter but then one day poof it was gone

Harris has a hitch in his jumper now, it’s sad. Elite defender tho

Harris has been so iffy that I’m pretty sure the nuggets will just match what Beasley gets in the summer

remember that one season when he was one of the best finishers too

suns really just need booker to play league average d (lagoon otm) and ayton to be what they expected him to be

i think if kennards knees are ok (they prob arent) then hes worth a protected pick. 16/4/4 with 40% 3s plus the same age as booker and the young core is not a bad idea, getting that in a first rounder is not a given plus you have to wait. and 15M per is a good price for that production if they can retain him for that. but i would shy away from those knee problems, and it is a contract year so this may be his peak

another problem for the suns is that oubre has probably outplayed his player option for next year and could look to a long term bigger deal.
