If you can find games that are rated ESRB "E" or "10+" those tend to be "good for children".

spider-man is damagingly boring. ratchet and clank and rocket league are both enormous fun.

still obsessively playing Witcher 3 and nothing else. completed the main quest and now it feels like the real fun is starting somehow

Kratos is very emotionally distant from his son in God of War.

it's because his son isn't good enough at helping out with the bow and arrow. it makes kratos very angry, which he transmutes into sadness and distance

looking for more two player couch games. we love Crash Bandicoot Racing and Overcooked 2 but starting to get a bit tired of them

Thanks Euler, there goes the rest of my Sunday. I own CSD the mobile game & on Steam but didn’t know there was a PS4 version.

it is different than CSD1. on console rather than touchscreen the controls are hard to master, and slower, so I've found it doable better in coop, à la Overcooked. but it has soooooo many recipes and is thus fun fun fun.

it is sort of boring. repetitive in some ways but also very addictive. I feel obsessively like I have to complete it. but I also wonder if that's because I am itching to get on with some sort of other game instead

yeah it fills some completist compulsions I have. But I also switch off easily between all the games I have right now.

the show makes a lot more sense as well.

i really want to play overcooked (it seems totally my thing but partner is like meep?) but I am going to wait until I am home home to do the 7 days ps plus trial and try out a bunch of other games.

got my money back on Civ6 because it wasn't compatible on my TV.. but I was keen to play a similar game, you know, strategy, building stuff.. is Tropico 6 worth a look? Or something else? What's Bad North like?

Tropico hasn't really changed much since 3. It's sort of disappointing. Still, I enjoyed it a lot the first time I played.

Maybe check out Frostpunk, Two Point Hospital, Jurassic World Evolution, Northgard, Surviving Mars... Bad North looks cool too.

The Return of the Obra Dinnis GOAT material, I'm on my third playthrough and am getting close to completion. So atmospheric and such brilliant game mecahnics.

Really enjoyed Obra Dinn, but feel like it got less fun towards the end when you had to solve the deaths of some of the more indistinct characters. Felt like I was trial-n-error-ing it a bunch after a certain point. But maybe there were clues that I just didn't pick up.

Regardless, yeah, it is very good. Really well done.

I think a bit of speculation is inevitable, I didn't feel much compunction switching the names of the Russian seamen around until I got a three, for example.

Being reported that PS5 will cost around $450 to produce, which means at least $470 to recoup. That seems high, even if they do artificially lower the price to sell it at a loss. But on the other hand, people buy phones for $800+ and don't seem to balk at that, and those are just phones. Plus, Playstation exclusives seem pretty awesome.

The Last Of Us was £8.99 for download so I thought I'd go for it. Wonderful-looking game, if a little 'on rails' so far. Subject matter a bit close to home in this climate though.

That's this generation, IMO we should wait till the next is actually out before we can say for sure.

yeah, all of the gameplay is so smooth and pleasant. I really do need to start concentrating on only a couple of games at once. I switch so much I get all bobbled with the different controls.

that's one of the reasons I'm loathe to start new games - learning all the different controls all over again

is there more to it than the gaming equivalent of shitposts cos that's all I've seen on YT so far

no idea. the proper version has only just come out, so my guess is that it will improve as it goes on. my first impression is that there's a lot to learn and the control system is complicated and a bit fiddly. that said, i've only had it about a week and only played it a few hours. the fun is creating stuff i'm guessing

it seems like a massive technical achievement, but Super Mario Maker has made me very dubious of stuff that wholly relies on user generated content, would rather just see the jokes on YT rather than pay to play them.

playing Ys 8 and really enjoying it, I have a massive soft spot for these kind of slightly janky b-tier japanese games tho. I blame the PS2.

I bought Dreams in early access. It's an amazing set of tools, but the games are all just demos at best.

Haven't played a single thing in it that is as fun as *any* level in Little Big Planet 1.

I've tried the creator a few times but couldn't handle the motion controls and bounced out of it. It is extremely deep though. I want to get into making music for it.

xp The showcase ('Art's Dream') is at once incredibly impressive and also limited. It has multiple gameplay styles, from platform to puzzle to beat em up to RPG. song and dance numbers, a loose story etc, but I wouldn't actually pay to play it.

that said, it's an amzing idea for a tool, and creating an interface that technically lets anyone create any thing using a control pad is amazing.

the FF7R demo is ... interesting? it looks and sounds amazing. the dialog is bad/corny and I suspect that's exactly what they were going for. the battle system is definitely the most interesting thing about it though, at the start I hated it, but during the final boss battle it started to make more sense? need to play through it again.

just started Dark Souls 3. Didn't get very far. The first boss is as hard to kill as one of the final bosses in Witcher 3

Nearing the end of Spiderman and everyone in the city is wearing face masks. IT JUST FEELS RIGHT.

xpost Keep at it! My favorite aspect of Dark Souls is how enemies that seem insurmountable at the start become pushovers by the end, underscoring your progress as a player.
