Is it even possible to have generational watershed moments in pop music these days with the all of the genre and scene fragmentation that the internet has wrought? I feel like the social phenomenon that was Smells Like Teen Spirit won't happen in a purely musical medium in the future.

I feel like it's nice but doesn't quite lift off as it should

was hoping this would break the streak of ballad bond themes, it doesn't, but it's still the best bond theme since "you know my name" (low bar) and a good song worth hearing more than once (a bar which recent bond themes did not clear). in mood it kind of reminds me of "the world is not enough"

now that i've posted that i need to play "you know my name" five times in a row again

it's certainly better than fuckin "Skyfall"

Lana del Rey supposedly wrote “24” as an audition song for Spectre.

Considering what came before it this is a very competent song for a Bond intro but it’s the sort of orchestral somber ballad that’s been done way too many times in the franchise. I thought Billie Eilish would be a perfect fit to revitalize what a Bond theme could be but this is way too safe. Feels like a lesser Skyfall tbh.
