I feel like I was pretty pop-heavy this year so there might be a bunch of stuff you're not into, but there are definitely some tracks I could see you loving. And haha yes, a few write-ins (including my number one which is actually from a computer game but I realised that it was 100% my favourite song out last year so I just went with it). Kinda surprised Park Hye-Jin didn't place at all, it felt like there was some hype here about the EP and that track in particular. She was definitely my top new artist of 2019, especially after having seen her live last spring. Such great vibes!

The EP came out mid-December in 2018, so presumably most people didn't hear it until 2019 ("year of impact" rule). I only caught in January, feels more like a 2019 release

I decided to try ranking the results based on limiting it to 2 entries per artist where the score of their top 2 songs got an additional "artist enthusiasm modifier", which is basically the combined scores of their remaining tracks split evenly between the top two tracks. It's not super scientific, I could imagine weighting the modifier distribution based on the base scores of the tracks.

the erika de casier album is one of the best r&b albums of the year, it's very 90s r&b in sound but with deep house textures mixed in too.

this is the original "intimate", the club remix is a bonus track on the album, made by one of the album's main producers. there's nothing else like it on the album unfortunately so it's just this wonderfully singular perfect blend of d&b & r&b

yeah sadly there isn't any particular context for the club mix other than whatever context you invent for it in your head

I think "blood sausage" refers to voting for tracks that got votes in the ILM poll but not in any other EOY polls? Though I have no idea how that's calculated?

77 is an ILX arc number, it's the name of the invite-only secret board, which got its name from the ID number of said board (I guess it was the 77th sub-board created?).

77 isn't invite btw in case you were wondering, but it is locked for reasons of privacy so you do need mod approval in order to access it. and you get that by requesting it on the relevant thread
