They’ve both got great songsParappa’s timing feels busted on a PS4 thoVib Ribbon was great but there’s a difficulty spike that just killed me every time I tried it

Feel like that was always a thing with these rhythm games, some hair-pulling point where I was like ARRRRGHH WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME, GAME and that I eventually figured out and then could do with ease, NBD.
It's good that this is a PSN release as I realized a while back to my deep chagrin that, while they're technically compatible, PS1 discs have like a microsecond delay on a PS3 that renders all rhythm games unplayable (RIP, Bust-a-Groove).

The first Parappa is at least available for Vita through PSN, btw, and the second is available for PS4. Such a pain that you need a multitude of systems just to play the only games that have ever actually mattered in the history of gaming, sheesh.

(I don't know if it warrants an entire thread of its own but I wish there was a good place on ILG to fete rhythm games. So many good ones fly completely under the radar. The Patapon games for PSP, Orgarhythm for Vita, Retro/Grade for PS3, etc etc etc.)

hard not to vote for "sunny day"
I forgot that I even bought Vib-Ribbon from the PSN store. Guess I should look into playing more than five minutes of that, huh.
whoa, didn't know about this! is there an equivalent of the "generate a level based on what's on a CD" gimmick? spotify or something?

have to confess I have never played Bust-a-Groove or Um Jammer Lammy, is their music as good (or as odd) as this?
I was going to say Kitty B is the only Bust-a-Groove keeper, but then I listened to the whole thing and Shorty and the EZ Mouse has been in my head all weekend.

(some good pop on there but nothing as inventive as vib ribbon)
Can't remember anything from Um Jammer Lammy, except 'Listen, I lost my Dojo. But, the Dojo remains in my mind. It even has a casino! Dojo, casino, it's all in the mind.'

Also yes to Shorty and the EZ Mouse. Although I still have no goddamn idea what an EZ Mouse is.
I started playing one of the Persona dance games on Vita this week, and it's fun and good but, man, where did all the memorable rhythm game music go? This stuff is pretty boilerplate + blah.
