clips are scrappy

i'm working on this emerging theory that the clips winning the championship would actually suck and most of us should be supporting any other outcome--would welcome the thoughts of the group.

mb its hard to judge the vibe of the team when they just havent been healthy all year

i like them in theory tho

bucks winning might be cool so we dont have to deal w a year of speculation as to whether giannis is gonna leave

lakers i dont think have enough guys tho mb they cn make a trade

clippers or lakers winning would be the worst. cheering for any other outcome but hoping for bucks the most.

evidence so far: no one would actually care if they won; if they do win it will be by playing an aesthetically displeasing style most of the time; them winning would reinforce the theory of pure mercenary teams; yeah steve ballmer is funny but does he actually deserve more pleasure in his life?

the lakers winning is also distasteful but at least a large population of people would be happy if the lakers won. generally i support people being happy.

i want the bucks to prove you can win a title in the modern nba if your best player cant shoot

a part of my theory is i was listening to some health of the nba stuff today (we haven't talked about how all of the "schedule reforms" have been shot down) and i started to think that a clippers championship is deeply unfriendly to casuals. at least those people can conceive of the lakers winning.

of the tru contenders, bucks are the best option for humanity. small market, havent won in forever, probably keeps giannis in milwaukee, and puts him in the top 20 all time convo.

w the lakers, u get lebron winning and shutting up kobe stans, probably solidifying some of his GOAT case, but then again fuck the lakers so idk

clippers would be wild as hell bc they were a punchline for so long and if kawhi wins back to back on different teams he also has to enter the top 20 conversation bc what the fuck

yeah the person who really benefits in that scenario is kawhi and that would also legitimize some regular season minimization that i don't love

clips chip would be... meh. but the lakers winning would be worse. much, much worse. to achieve their highest destiny the lakers must totally collapse amidst delectable quantities of messy drama.

reasonable argument imo cad clippers are mercenary and have no fans

otoh, the pellies taking the chip on the broad shoulders of zion would bring the world to ecstasy

i've been clowning the nuggets for years but if that's what the fates want i will not stand in their way

oh totally, i think the nuggs dna is getting smacked around in the playoffs by actual good teams

jazz are hot right now too but same tier as those others.

maybe some in season trade cld put one of those teams over the top but everyone always talks about that and it never seems to happen

worked for the pistons in 04 or whatever (sheed) but they had 4 good starters already and mostly shaq and Kobe combusted after years of internal rage

2004 pistons and 2014 spurs were some of the few title winners that had no top 10 talents on their team

actually thought we got a pretty good example of Ewing theory this last year with Bryce Harper, one of the very few actual examples of this idea coming to fruition

celtics have no size and no bench, if it were just one of those problems mb they could work on fixing it but theyre too flawed to seriously contend
