Equally weird is questioning anyone's motive to be involved/engaged in something tbf. It's very American to not get how a non-American could have an interest in something - esp politics - outside one's own country. I mean, you can call someone out for dumb shit, but questioning his motives to engage in conversation over and over (and following that up with 'gtfo Fred' or 'why are you here Fred') is nagl.
