Will that guy on Jeopardy ever lose?

Want to make up my own hard questions answers, such as:

def rooting for jennings, as he is a recognizable human being, whereas holhauzer is a computer program that had to teach itself how to smile.

plus he's really good on Twitter

the sigh of relief after he got the last FJ right is as much emotion as I've ever seen on this show

yeah, he was pretty emotional the whole time. i'm glad he's kicking ass cause i was worried holhauzer would steamroll through, but the first night was fairly dramatic.

Brad constantly throwing himself on grenades probably helped. James can't steamroll if he doesn't hit the Daily Doubles

who won the second match? i only caught the first. jennings getting the stupid "before and after" daily double right was clearly the turning point though it was pretty dramatic that brad made it to exactly half ken's "points" for final jeopardy

James won the second game but not by enough to overtake the lead

both the before/during/after & triple rhyme time categories demonstrated just how much good these guys are, even the easy ones would've taken me more time to figure out than you get on the show. and they got them in like half a second

James can't steamroll if he doesn't hit the Daily Doubles

yeah, a huge part of james' strategy was hitting as many daily doubles as possible, which is easy to do when you control the board for nearly the entire game, which he tended to do for most of his run. you can't do that against these guys, obviously.

brad also lucked into daily doubles very early on in both games

is this the first game Brad ever lost to an actual human

good news for him is he's only 1 behind, I want this series to go on as long as possible so I'll be pulling for him tonight

weird to see him look so out of his league here, he's arguably the best of the 3

I agree this was really great TV. Probably the most entertained I've ever been watching this show.

so cool that it came down to the reveal on the last answer. I wanted james to have it right so we could get another episode. the right guy won though. kinda lame that 2/3 place got 250k each, 3rd shoulda been like 100k or something. james earned more money and outplayed brad so badly + he brought roughly 60% of the good jokes and entertainment and should be paid accordingly. brad just looked embarrassed to be there by like halfway through the first episode.

so did ken predict james would get the wrong answer? i'm too dum to understand why he didn't bet anything

because James was obviously going to bet everything and if he did & hit then Ken couldn't catch up even if he did bet it all. so it made no difference what he wagered there. actually getting it right was pure style

btw that "Math Equations to Roman Numerals to Initials to Names" category was hilarious, they definitely dialed it up for these guys. I got the Mark McGwire one though

i laughed at how none of them knew what Kanye's new album was called. it was probably filmed around the time it dropped, too.

I bumped into Ken Jennings’ +1 for the tapings just minutes after last night’s ep aired, and he said the lead time was much shorter than usual for these specials. The Kanye had probably been out for a month or more?

(also I’d guess they’re all busy studying existing general knowledge for months beforehand, not too deep into current pop releases)
