He’s gotta rebound better

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 5 January 2020 19:41 (four years ago) link

Nuggets really needed a guy who could do the quickdunks and rim runs that Faried was so good at but it turns out Grant just takes 3s

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 5 January 2020 19:45 (four years ago) link

yeah long athletic guy gotta do long athletic things

Addressing reporters for the first time since the Nets’ loss in Denver on Nov. 14, Irving said he’s doing better and recently received a cortisone shot for his right shoulder impingement. He also confirmed reports of having bursitis in his shoulder. Irving said he got the shot to put off having arthroscopic surgery but plans to see how his body responds before going that route.

Irving could still return to the court and see whether he’s able to play before opting for surgery. He didn’t provide a timeline for when he plans to decide.

“I’m in a better place now that it’s been some significant time,” Irving said. “I tried to go without any anti-inflammatories, which is why it took so long. Now I’m at a place where the next step was to either get a cortisone shot or get surgery. So that was the ultimatum I was fixed with. So now I’m just doing the best I can to live off this cortisone and move forward if I need surgery in the future.”

of course kyrie doesnt want to take anti-inflammatories for his inflammation

“I tried to go without any anti-inflammatories, which is why it took so long."

What a dumbshit. I know steroids are tough on your body and I feel bad for professional athletes who have difficulties later in life, but this is some flat earth nonsense.

An Oral History of Deez Nutz (PBKR), Sunday, 5 January 2020 22:01 (four years ago) link

He’s an anti-vaxxer isn’t he

championship winning vibration (Spottie), Sunday, 5 January 2020 22:02 (four years ago) link

NSAIDs have some side effects that can be pretty harsh. they can fuck up your kidneys. that's one reason why you aren't supposed to take NSAIDs for more than three days without seeing a physician. steroids have even worse side effects. Kyrie should be using them to assist his body to heal, but sparingly, as an adjunct to rest, ice, and other therapy.

A is for (Aimless), Sunday, 5 January 2020 22:13 (four years ago) link

The issue with NSAIDs is that athletes exceed the dosage

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 5 January 2020 22:39 (four years ago) link

it's probably easy to make a case against anti-inflammatories when you don't actually want to play this season.

So garbage that a handful of our most exciting and entertaining players haven’t played much or at all this season. Kyrie curry kd klay Zion Oladipo

championship winning vibration (Spottie), Monday, 6 January 2020 02:17 (four years ago) link

people were making a big deal out of ratings being down this year and its like no shit, all those guys are injured + they bet like 50 national games on curry and zion and lost

ciderpress, Monday, 6 January 2020 02:24 (four years ago) link

reasonable point

yeah

lag∞n, Monday, 6 January 2020 02:55 (four years ago) link

tbf kyrie is himself inflammatory and he might be afraid of mood altering drugs

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Monday, 6 January 2020 03:20 (four years ago) link

So is Blake Griffin retired

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 6 January 2020 05:17 (four years ago) link

he and kyrie both

championship winning vibration (Spottie), Monday, 6 January 2020 06:01 (four years ago) link

blake is in detroit tho so no one cares about him any more. hes only played in half their games and is shooting 35% from the field

championship winning vibration (Spottie), Monday, 6 January 2020 06:06 (four years ago) link

it’s doubly weird cuz i thought last year he played as well as he ever has in his career. just seems like his body is breaking down i guess

J0rdan S., Monday, 6 January 2020 06:38 (four years ago) link

yeah started near the end of last year and he probably shouldnt have played in the playoffs but he tried to gut it out.

championship winning vibration (Spottie), Monday, 6 January 2020 06:39 (four years ago) link

seems like he could stand to lose 15-20 lbs to ease the burden on the knees.

championship winning vibration (Spottie), Monday, 6 January 2020 06:41 (four years ago) link

all the past juicing probs hasnt helped

I could see him turning it around next year with how hard he “trains”

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 6 January 2020 17:15 (four years ago) link

I guess I’m a Drummond defender on here but I actually think he’d be pretty great on the hawks. The hawks should also be calling about Malik Beasley.

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 6 January 2020 17:30 (four years ago) link

he wld def make them better

lag∞n, Monday, 6 January 2020 17:52 (four years ago) link

might not be a bad idea to be not awful tbh

lag∞n, Monday, 6 January 2020 17:55 (four years ago) link

Apparently this draft sucks so maybe they’ve lost enough for their taste

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 6 January 2020 18:32 (four years ago) link

Sacramento is among the teams that has tried to engage the Lakers in Kyle Kuzma trade talks, league sources say. The Kings know they would have to include sharpshooter (and soon-to-be restricted free agent) Bogdan Bogdanovic, for starters, in a Kuzma deal

lag∞n, Monday, 6 January 2020 19:15 (four years ago) link

What the hell

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 6 January 2020 19:19 (four years ago) link

kings are such a chaotic presence

lag∞n, Monday, 6 January 2020 19:20 (four years ago) link

what a strange idea by the kings

call all destroyer, Monday, 6 January 2020 19:45 (four years ago) link

bogan would help the lakers a ton. this is a very kangz idea. why dont they just... pay him? mayb try and trade harrison barnes instead??

championship winning vibration (Spottie), Monday, 6 January 2020 19:48 (four years ago) link

i understand why they would trade him but maybe don't do it for a power forward that you're going to have to pay on the same timeline as bogdan

GM Tommy Sheppard stated he wants to re-sign Davis Bertans, but that hasn't stopped teams from showing interest ahead of the deadline.

An update on the teams targeting the Latvian Laser: https://t.co/p8edsydJG5

— Chase Hughes (@ChaseHughesNBCS) January 6, 2020

bertans cld change things for a good team

lag∞n, Monday, 6 January 2020 20:10 (four years ago) link

It’s such a crazy situation with bertans because if he comes to your team and continues to play like this you really might be winning the title. From that perspective they should be demanding a king’s ransom, but he’s had two serious knee injuries.

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 6 January 2020 20:22 (four years ago) link

The sixers would be terrifying with him for example

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 6 January 2020 20:23 (four years ago) link

even injuries aside hes only been playing like this for a couple months he might just be on a heater

lag∞n, Monday, 6 January 2020 20:29 (four years ago) link

An NBA executive told me within the last 18 months that they call the Kings and a handful of teams more often than any others for basically this exact reason. You never know what they might go for. https://t.co/MVC1oQ5t45

seems as tho his numbers are pretty even hes just getting more burn on a crap team who decided to start playing a more uptempo style this year. xp

championship winning vibration (Spottie), Monday, 6 January 2020 20:32 (four years ago) link

hes taking crazy shots just hoisting w abandon

lag∞n, Monday, 6 January 2020 20:34 (four years ago) link

pop needed to free him to hoist

X rated

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 7 January 2020 00:39 (four years ago) link

jokic just turned in what has to be his highest-scoring half ever, 27 points against the hawks lol

k3vin k., Tuesday, 7 January 2020 01:38 (four years ago) link

i get why the wiz wanna re-sign bertans bcuz they need some feel good story but i feel like they should be shopping him to every contender for like 2 first round picks. his shooting is just bonkers.

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 7 January 2020 02:00 (four years ago) link

agreed, seems like they could get a nice haul and he's a luxury item on a team that has to do some rebuilding.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 7 January 2020 02:07 (four years ago) link
