i for one never understood this trade. you already have a top 2 center and a $30 million PF. when is grant really going to be making an impact.

#Bulls coach Jim Boylen on his liberal use of timeouts early, sometimes at the expense of not having them late in games: "We practice to not have timeouts. I'm not in fear mode that we don't have timeouts, because we're prepared to not have them."— Cody Westerlund (@CodyWesterlund) January 5, 2020

Addressing reporters for the first time since the Nets’ loss in Denver on Nov. 14, Irving said he’s doing better and recently received a cortisone shot for his right shoulder impingement. He also confirmed reports of having bursitis in his shoulder. Irving said he got the shot to put off having arthroscopic surgery but plans to see how his body responds before going that route.
Irving could still return to the court and see whether he’s able to play before opting for surgery. He didn’t provide a timeline for when he plans to decide.
“I’m in a better place now that it’s been some significant time,” Irving said. “I tried to go without any anti-inflammatories, which is why it took so long. Now I’m at a place where the next step was to either get a cortisone shot or get surgery. So that was the ultimatum I was fixed with. So now I’m just doing the best I can to live off this cortisone and move forward if I need surgery in the future.”
of course kyrie doesnt want to take anti-inflammatories for his inflammation

“I tried to go without any anti-inflammatories, which is why it took so long."
What a dumbshit. I know steroids are tough on your body and I feel bad for professional athletes who have difficulties later in life, but this is some flat earth nonsense.

― championship winning vibration (Spottie), Sunday, 5 January 2020 22:02 (four years ago) link
NSAIDs have some side effects that can be pretty harsh. they can fuck up your kidneys. that's one reason why you aren't supposed to take NSAIDs for more than three days without seeing a physician. steroids have even worse side effects. Kyrie should be using them to assist his body to heal, but sparingly, as an adjunct to rest, ice, and other therapy.
― A is for (Aimless), Sunday, 5 January 2020 22:13 (four years ago) link
The issue with NSAIDs is that athletes exceed the dosage
― Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 5 January 2020 22:39 (four years ago) link
it's probably easy to make a case against anti-inflammatories when you don't actually want to play this season.
