l: sorry about the other night dude, my phone, doesnt seem to understand your number, and pretends it isnt in there, and i dont know who it is.

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 14 March 2006 15:06 (eighteen years ago) link

charlton, my phone does that if I have the person's name in twice, that could be the problem

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 14 March 2006 15:11 (eighteen years ago) link

im feeling myself again today

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 14 March 2006 15:41 (eighteen years ago) link

Who else is coming to Bugged Out then? Lex, can you get guestlist again?

I am going to give RacistJustice a miss tonight, I think. I'm going wine tasting (!) tomorrow and a hangover is probably a bad thing in those circumstances.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 17 March 2006 13:58 (eighteen years ago) link

haven't been able to get guestlist for everyone again, no - even my +1 is a paying one.

where is marianna? is she coming?

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 17 March 2006 14:18 (eighteen years ago) link

also, 8 april, alex smoke at the light

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 17 March 2006 14:29 (eighteen years ago) link

No problem... should we all just meet in the Princess Louise at 9.30ish like we did last time?

last time i went to Optimo@Our Disco it was fantastic although that was at Plastic People. i'm v tempted to stay in tonight and come out for this tomorrow.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Friday, 17 March 2006 17:13 (eighteen years ago) link

where should i dance in london? mind you, i do not 'dance' per se (i have been known to make semi-coordinated upper body movements when seated not capable of duplication when standing). nor do i drink very much. nor do i go to clubs in new york evar. but it seems the thing to do in london town and it might be interesting to walk around and observe people and lights and milieu and hear distinctly across-the-pond sounds. fabric, then? or end/aka? tell me of notting hill arts club.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 17 March 2006 17:19 (eighteen years ago) link

This question is unanswerable until you tell us when you're actually in London. I'm sure you've mentioned it on another thread I've missed, but really, everything depends on what's happening on any one weekend. The End, for example, can be awesome one weekend and rubbish the next.

Frankly, the same goes for pretty much everything in this city.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 18 March 2006 00:09 (eighteen years ago) link

unanswerable!

(i get in at night on fri the 24th and leave after noon on fri the 31st. i think the sat and one or both of the tues and wed will be good nights for going out.)

gabbneb (gabbneb), Saturday, 18 March 2006 03:00 (eighteen years ago) link

I can't decide between Bugged v Canvas (more likely as it's free) v staggering home drunk after o-ding on fish pie at Robster's (v likely as I live around the corner).

Hmm.

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Saturday, 18 March 2006 07:56 (eighteen years ago) link

optimo!

charltonlido (gareth), Saturday, 18 March 2006 09:40 (eighteen years ago) link

although,

argy!

charltonlido (gareth), Saturday, 18 March 2006 09:43 (eighteen years ago) link

If I wasn't suffering from an annoying cold, I wd be def rocking the Optimo tip instead of Bugged Out.

RickyT (RickyT), Saturday, 18 March 2006 09:47 (eighteen years ago) link

gareth, am meeting ambrose later, call me

Ed (dali), Saturday, 18 March 2006 09:48 (eighteen years ago) link

Yeah.Optimo.

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Saturday, 18 March 2006 09:54 (eighteen years ago) link

i have a feeling someone will play Secret Cinema tonite

charltonlido (gareth), Saturday, 18 March 2006 10:51 (eighteen years ago) link

I would prefer Optimo, I think, Bugged Out isn't going to go away and will probably be rocking that exact same lineup in the not-too-distant future.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 18 March 2006 11:16 (eighteen years ago) link

tonight will be busy. bugged out, then MANDY @ fabric, then hopefully optimo.

rchinn (rchinn), Saturday, 18 March 2006 11:34 (eighteen years ago) link

If I can do Optimo, Matt, I'll let you know.

Hal! Jordan! HAL! JORDAN! (Barima), Saturday, 18 March 2006 12:49 (eighteen years ago) link

Optimo people - the Lex and I will be meeting at The Castle from 9-9.30ish. Come along.

It's just occurred to me the last time I saw Optimo (at Plastic People) was exactly a year ago today.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 18 March 2006 18:39 (eighteen years ago) link

the best night out i've had in a long while, if not ever. (okay I am mostly ignoring pre-1am)

it was lovely to meet you, Ambrose!

permanent revolution (cis), Sunday, 19 March 2006 08:21 (eighteen years ago) link

That was so weird - pre 1am it was shockingly bad and then pretty much as soon as Twitch came on and thereafter it became THE BEST THING EVER! Especially hearing Silent Shout out and the Justified and Ancient moment.

Good to see Ambrose again, and meet Twitch properly for the first time. I'm going to sleep for three days now.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 19 March 2006 13:29 (eighteen years ago) link

My friends all seem to visit london midweek...is there something going on sun to wed night this week? im going to let them do the boring day stuff alone and then join in for the dancing bit.

emma cleveland (emma cleveland), Sunday, 19 March 2006 16:41 (eighteen years ago) link

this was great..good to meet youse all, sorry i slunk off but i had someone to looks after :S

also that v stylish girl wasnt gonna leave her boyfriend for me so it was all over

:(

but yeah klf, energy flash. i admit, that indie girls dancing to techno exists.

ambrose (ambrose), Sunday, 19 March 2006 17:56 (eighteen years ago) link

Ambrose, the only girl I saw you near last night was Cis (or, which stylish girl? It was identikit action a-go-go at Canvas). Shame about the hoodie, as after my eyesight started dying, I realised I couldn't identify you without it. I mean, I thought it was orange.

Hal! Jordan! HAL! JORDAN! (Barima), Sunday, 19 March 2006 18:47 (eighteen years ago) link

but i had someone to looks after :S

???

oh, johan?

? i didnt see this

charltonlido (gareth), Sunday, 19 March 2006 18:54 (eighteen years ago) link

Oh man, I wish I'd gone! But given the funk I'm in it's probably best that I didn't.

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Sunday, 19 March 2006 19:34 (eighteen years ago) link

OMG! I had a flashback at about 7.30 this evening to about 5am, just as we were leaving. I bumped into my first girlfriend's ex-boyfriend, who was there as a policeman trying to clear the whole thing out. The last time I'd seen him was nine years ago when I shouting "you are a complete cunt" in his face, with good reason.

I was in NO STATE WHATSOEVER to be having the conversation I actually had with him at the time. I think said "how are you in the police force? Didn't you get done for fraud?"

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 19 March 2006 23:20 (eighteen years ago) link

MOO MOO! MOO MOO!

the 'silent shout' arpeggios work shockingly well with the mdma. also 'rej' by ame = ANTHEM.

marianna we missed you! hope you had a good birthday anyway...

lovely to meet ambrose too.

i feel woeful today, though i suspect it's proper illingness and actually nothing to do with saturday night at all.

matt's ability to sleep makes me envious.

cis's massages, omg.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 20 March 2006 10:01 (eighteen years ago) link

Ame - Rej is definately one of the tunes of last year. Sounds best on Andre Galluzzi's Berghain compilation following up Robag's Wombat track.

Anyone kick on to any afterparties. MANDY at Public Life were amazing.

rchinn (rchinn), Monday, 20 March 2006 13:48 (eighteen years ago) link

MANDY at Public Life were amazing

!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!

ambrose (ambrose), Monday, 20 March 2006 16:50 (eighteen years ago) link

Ambrose were you at Public Life too?

Photos from Optimo.

rchinn (rchinn), Monday, 20 March 2006 20:31 (eighteen years ago) link

Also, the next one has Justice, Mr Oizo, Uffie and someone else French I can't remember. Anyone know when it is?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 20 March 2006 21:04 (eighteen years ago) link

no but mandy at public life sounds like thebest thing ever, in this world. just about. where were they playing before? at the end? what time was the afterparty?

ambrose (ambrose), Monday, 20 March 2006 21:18 (eighteen years ago) link

Just found myself in a crowd scene, and dammit, looks like a pretty blonde was checking me out after all...

Hal! Jordan! HAL! JORDAN! (Barima), Monday, 20 March 2006 23:13 (eighteen years ago) link

Ok, so Our Disco with the French line-up possibly early May, not confirmed yet, but on its way. Keep fingers crossed.

M.A.N.D.Y. played Fabric from 4.30am - 8.30am, then Public Life 2pm - 5pm. Was awesome. The guys charisma really took hold in that little public toilet of wrongness that is so so good.

rchinn (rchinn), Tuesday, 21 March 2006 00:26 (eighteen years ago) link

so...

whats happening this weekend?

charltonlido (gareth), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 18:29 (eighteen years ago) link

I know that this isn't necessarily dancing, but some of the people who like dancing also like this:

Sonic Cathedrals, wibble like it's 1992!

THURSDAY APRIL 20

HOWLING BELLS (Live)

Did I Mention My PAISLEY SOCKS? (kate), Friday, 24 March 2006 10:26 (eighteen years ago) link

whats happening this weekend?

i can vouch for Richard Bartz (tomorrow @ fabric), i saw him last month and he tore the place apart

Yawn (Wintermute), Friday, 24 March 2006 20:08 (eighteen years ago) link

cant go back to Fabric this weekend, as much as I would like to see Robag does his this with Monkey Mafia. going to lay low and think about five consecutive days of party in April.

ambrose (ambrose), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 14:30 (eighteen years ago) link

i'm planning to not do anything this weekend again - just got over nasty flu + april is mental = energy must be conserved.

8 april - alex smoke at the light (interviewing him beforehand)
15 april - either soulwax nite versions/2manydjs/tiga at canvas or matthew dear/akufen/smagghe at fabric (would prefer latter but friend who's doing a bday would prefer the former)
22 april - this is superkoze night right? if so i don't want to do fabric two weeks running.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 14:37 (eighteen years ago) link

But Canvas >>>>>>> Fabric though!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 14:43 (eighteen years ago) link

unfortunately canvas PA

ambrose (ambrose), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 14:46 (eighteen years ago) link

canvas >>>>> fabric especially fabric two weeks running. but matthew dear isn't in these parts as often as soulwax! who i have seen approx 94849393303 times now. annabel wants the canvas party though, and i'm likely to end up there.
