Yah may be a great thing but just side eying everything about him until he plays at this point

championship winning vibration (Spottie), Thursday, 26 December 2019 17:50 (four years ago) link

I think they need to be open to the possibility that the way Zion runs is actually good for him

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 26 December 2019 18:12 (four years ago) link

E.g. I’m pretty sure Lebron running like a duck is a key to his long term health

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 26 December 2019 18:13 (four years ago) link

yeah its dicey to f w that sort of thing

lag∞n, Thursday, 26 December 2019 18:23 (four years ago) link

I vaguely remember that Myles Turner raised his draft stock by learning to run

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 26 December 2019 22:48 (four years ago) link

starting to think we might not see this guy this year

frogbs, Thursday, 26 December 2019 23:16 (four years ago) link

he's scheduled for 5 on 5 drills in january. if we don't see him things are going really badly.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 26 December 2019 23:21 (four years ago) link

Blake and Ben both missed their entire rookie campaigns so there is precedent.

lag∞n, Friday, 27 December 2019 01:10 (four years ago) link

championship winning vibration (Spottie), Friday, 27 December 2019 01:16 (four years ago) link

lag∞n, Friday, 27 December 2019 01:20 (four years ago) link

lag∞n, Friday, 27 December 2019 01:21 (four years ago) link

championship winning vibration (Spottie), Friday, 27 December 2019 01:27 (four years ago) link

Specialists at P3 and elsewhere note that it's easier to repair such issues in younger players than older ones. One veteran Western Conference scout says recent reports for prospects have often included the phrase "tight hips."

"At first, I would kind of laugh at it," the scout says. "But now I notice it more and more often, especially when they move laterally while defending. A lot of these guys can't get low to the ground."

Ok so are there any theories as to why young guys today have this issue?

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 16 January 2020 19:23 (four years ago) link

mb due to more sitting around, p well documented that kids spend more time indoors these days

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 January 2020 19:34 (four years ago) link

kids need to get outside and play some damned four square

omg what did you type to find this gif? (Spottie), Thursday, 16 January 2020 19:50 (four years ago) link

maybe not getting the calcium from hose water or the vitamin D from the streetlights

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 16 January 2020 19:53 (four years ago) link

my parents still live in mid class suburban home I grew up in and man there's nooooobody ever playing outside. Was staying there few months ago and heard children's voices but that was from the grade school's recess ie the time they're forced to play outside

👀Impressive numbers for #Zion's debut on ESPN (Fast Nationals from Nielsen):

📺2,357,000 viewers. Peaked w/2,777,000.

⬆️Viewership up 88% vs last year's comparable game.

🏀1.6 US rating, matching ESPN's highest-rated NBA game this season (Non-XMas). Up 100% year over year. pic.twitter.com/9ZSbz6zGQv

the savior

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 January 2020 19:22 (four years ago) link

the NBA’s freak out over ratings this year is so obviously dumb

k3vin k., Thursday, 23 January 2020 23:30 (four years ago) link

I think a much bigger worry is cable companies refusing to pay for RSNs

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 24 January 2020 14:55 (four years ago) link

lol its literally the only reason i tolerate paying for cable tv

majority whip, majority nae nae (m bison), Friday, 24 January 2020 14:56 (four years ago) link

Altitude TV still hasn’t resolved their fight with Comcast and I think a couple midwestern RSNs have died

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 24 January 2020 14:57 (four years ago) link

might f around and post every zion game highlight vid until further notice

What's highest fg% for a rookie averaging 15+ ppg? Shaq? Wilt?

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 12 February 2020 04:50 (four years ago) link

I can answer that question, Granny.
Deandre Ayton! 58.5%
Buck Williams 58.2
Zion 57.4
Shaq 56.2
Chris Webber 55.2

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 12 February 2020 06:50 (four years ago) link

In his rookie season in the ABA, Artis Gilmore averaged 24 ppg on 59.8%
