Present your arguments for or against why this should be inducted into the deep house canon:
Jellybean feat Steven Dante - The Real Thing (Fun "House" Dub)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDnv6e7NLd0
The bassline is so solid, and the vocals ooze power as well. There seems to be a lack of 808 though.
'Jellybean' is one of those producers who disappoints me overall because I found his strongest production early on then later realized there wasn't much else like it. With 'Jellybean' I'm talking of course about his work on Madonna's 'Holiday' but C&C Music Factory would be another good example, their only real masterpiece that I've found is that one Grace Jones garage remix.

Right, that's not bad. A little flimsy for my deep house preferences but it's not bad. I prefer that vocal to the Aretha remake. Here's the Grace Jones garage remix (apologies if I've posted it here before, I'm kind of partial to it):

Just the intro alone is worthy of a full DJ mix built around it.

Can't remember if I posted this a while ago, but when I try to load this thread it crashes the tab. Here are a couple of my favorite records ever that I couldn't find anywhere online, so I digitized them:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=El7Kety_uh0Rough Diamond - Singles BarThis is a shameless rip of an Air tune, but it bumps.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_ebQCg8NFoIkko - Night in BlueThis song just builds and builds. I love the clanging piano chords and the silky drop in the middle.

In July, Tom Ewing will be running a Twitter world cup of 1990 tracks and looking for nominations this week. Dance music is ridiculously underpresented at the moment, given how great it was in 1990. Here's the current list:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/1/d/1nbefrL-HIkjF0KvPU0ziJddlnx-eEcgAwkliyiiYH8Y/edit?usp=sharing
DHS - House of God has just been added, thankfully, but there's currently no Cubik, no I Called U, no The Power even.
If any of you are into such things, bung @people_pop a tweet with a couple of nominations. Only one of them can be a UK Top 40 hit, but neither has to be.
