this is going to be brutal - a patched up team of square pegs in round holes and a bench of U18's - fucking hell i can't even watch.

words that apply extremely well to our own injury-ravaged squad. we had 14 out last week ffs

imago, Saturday, 7 December 2019 12:05 (four years ago) link

barring spectacular investment i can unfortunately see this being an 'it's us or you' situation come season's end

imago, Saturday, 7 December 2019 12:06 (four years ago) link

<3 u calz but this is us or u and no prisoners taken at that

imago, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 16:45 (four years ago) link

Lol I'm so apathetic about Town and disgusted by our racist gammon section I didn't even know we we were playing tonight! As defined by the geneva convention ruling on child soldiers, they are legally considered victims of war and taking them as prisoners is a war-crime.

calzino, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 18:00 (four years ago) link

tbf arguing with pig ignorant morons on football forums about the absolute state of the Conservative Party and the BBC does out a lot of decent posters as well, they are just a minority unfortunately.

calzino, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 18:05 (four years ago) link

Jim Smith (along with any hope of us getting anything tonight) dies.

calzino, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 19:11 (four years ago) link

we have named an astonishingly defensive and doomed-seeming xi fyi

imago, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 19:28 (four years ago) link

oh we got lucky!

calzino, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 22:29 (four years ago) link

you got FP'd :P

imago, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 22:33 (four years ago) link

just kidding but everyone must die obv

imago, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 22:34 (four years ago) link

there would have been a time when I would have been charmed and excited by a young homegrown prospect getting an injury time winner, but I have gone into a late hateful period where I despise all footballers and about 70% of our supporters!

calzino, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 23:18 (four years ago) link

in terms of football endorsements, neville southall, peter reid, joe lolley, kevin kilbane, mayumi pachecho, stan collymore and marcelo bielsa are all backing labour.

no T Watt - no cred!

calzino, Wednesday, 11 December 2019 00:23 (four years ago) link

You can add Klopp to that:

“I'm on the left, of course,” Jürgen Klopp notes, as relayed by journalist Raphael Honigstein in his new book about the Liverpool manager. “More left than middle. I believe in the welfare state. I'm not privately insured. I would never vote for a party because they promised to lower the top tax rate.”

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 11 December 2019 10:37 (four years ago) link

if you fuckers thought supporting Labour was heartbreaking right now

imago, Friday, 13 December 2019 22:15 (four years ago) link

only 1-0 down at the half thanks to nakhi wells pulling off two of the worst misses of the season. keep it up champ

imago, Saturday, 21 December 2019 16:01 (four years ago) link

I've got a fiver ILX treble on Sheff Utd, Town and Charlton today, that 9/2 on your lot is sounding way too short! Sounds about right for Nahki :p

calzino, Saturday, 21 December 2019 16:07 (four years ago) link

ffs both Town and Blades 2-0 up now!

calzino, Saturday, 21 December 2019 16:14 (four years ago) link

oh no blades are still 1-0 up - don't where I saw that phantom goal

calzino, Saturday, 21 December 2019 16:15 (four years ago) link

go on addicks!

calzino, Saturday, 21 December 2019 16:16 (four years ago) link

ffs lads!

calzino, Saturday, 21 December 2019 16:30 (four years ago) link

i otoh will take a 96th-minute equaliser by our cult hero, legend and titan of inconsistent brilliance naby sarr

imago, Saturday, 21 December 2019 17:18 (four years ago) link

since A le Fondre rocked up in the A-League he's scored 27 in 34 appearances!

calzino, Sunday, 29 December 2019 16:19 (four years ago) link

Knew he had to have a level somewhere

Bojo Rabid (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 29 December 2019 16:28 (four years ago) link

I watch a lot of Australian football as i am always up early and it’s genuinely terrible. Two of the best strikers in the league just went to play in India instead.

Birmingham- Leeds is now 4-4!

Srinivasaraghavan VONCataraghavan (ShariVari), Sunday, 29 December 2019 16:53 (four years ago) link

5-4 Leeds!

Srinivasaraghavan VONCataraghavan (ShariVari), Sunday, 29 December 2019 16:55 (four years ago) link

imagine conceding more than 3 goals!

(we've conceded 3 once and every other time less. but often 2. usually 2)

imago, Sunday, 29 December 2019 17:26 (four years ago) link

btw

you know how there's always football on during xmas/new year's

well there's only one game tomorrow

and we have 14 injured

imago, Monday, 30 December 2019 00:40 (four years ago) link

that's right, give us 75 minutes against ten men, see if we care about scoring

imago, Monday, 30 December 2019 20:41 (four years ago) link

should have been 50 minutes against 9 men tbf

imago, Monday, 30 December 2019 20:41 (four years ago) link

Excellent penalty technique.

ShariVari, Monday, 30 December 2019 21:28 (four years ago) link

I knew eventually Duane Holmes would be a good championship player, we let go way too soon.

calzino, Monday, 30 December 2019 22:14 (four years ago) link

that is what 13 injuries will do to ya

going swimming today. Somebody wake me up when the current management duo have been sacked. Don't even give a shit if we stay up/go down.

calzino, Saturday, 11 January 2020 10:14 (four years ago) link

Not good to watch? Form seems to have picked up?

Tim, Saturday, 11 January 2020 11:11 (four years ago) link

the football has been awful from what I've seen. Too much thuggery, gamesmanship, time-wasting. Awful men they are as well. After having a class act like Wagner for a few years it does spoil you a bit. But these ugly bastards are such bullies I want to see them getting taken down a peg or two rather than the opposition. I was even glad when Leeds beat us, cos whatever you say about the vile revenant - the manager seems a class act.

Fantastic behind-the-scenes content from Other Deems; bonus multiple dry zings at prima donna footballer who turned down Charlton for no good reason

Todd Phillips, party auteur (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 12 February 2020 15:03 (four years ago) link

Been saying it for 3 years now: we have had this forsaken Champions League player roaming about our backline for three seasons now as half our fans scream that he's shit and we should get rid

imago, Wednesday, 12 February 2020 15:07 (four years ago) link

Screamer of an assist that.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 12 February 2020 15:09 (four years ago) link

two weeks pass...

You lucky bastards

Dunty Reggae party 🎉 (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 29 February 2020 12:38 (four years ago) link

Hull might be the only side that keeps us up, especially after calz's lot dismantle our negative injury-hit crew later. Keep going Leeds

strangely hookworm but they manage ream shoegaze poetry (imago), Saturday, 29 February 2020 12:43 (four years ago) link

Playing nice football Hull but hopeless in the box. Thing they might yet survive. Hard when they've sold their two goal scorers tho

Dunty Reggae party 🎉 (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 29 February 2020 13:23 (four years ago) link

Result didn't flatter Leeds but Hull weren't bad except zero cutting edge

Dunty Reggae party 🎉 (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 29 February 2020 14:29 (four years ago) link

with our current management duo i don't really care any more, hope they do go down tbh. I just can't accept these fucking PE teacher bully, sunday league dregs of humanity after the Wagner period. I'm all for 80's/90's football nostalgia, apart from the troglodyte managers side of it.

calzino, Saturday, 29 February 2020 15:13 (four years ago) link

you won't go down with some of the dross in this league, as you're presumably witnessing rn

strangely hookworm but they manage ream shoegaze poetry (imago), Saturday, 29 February 2020 15:37 (four years ago) link

No I'm cooking rn with music playing, can't even be arsed with Radio Leeds radio commentary anymore. For the first time in decades. Oh Grant scoring is quite predictable!

calzino, Saturday, 29 February 2020 15:40 (four years ago) link

took a brief look at the table, it's looking one of them seasons where someone in the championship will go down with 50 + points for sure.
