I just saw this. I hope the grumpy old bugger has a safe journey. RIP.

Stokes is kind of cricket's Jamie Vardy isn't he. Gay-basher-bashing larrikin who'll hit sixes

Hope that puts to bed the notion of 4 day tests. Magical day.

and that catch by Crawley was WOW. The slips were close in and Stokes bowling at 90 mph and if you haven't seen it yet enjoy.

Dont mess with test cricket!

Sad and almost embarrassing here for SA

I watched the first episode of the Aussie cricket thing - The Test - on Amazon Prime. The access the cameras have is pretty comprehensive but I'm not sure there's anything - or anyone - compelling enough to keep me coming back. Langer is kind of emblematic in his dead-eyed zealotry but it seems to be systemic. Maybe everyone will settle down but not sure I can be arsed.

Vanishing Point (Chinaski), Monday, 30 March 2020 19:58 (four years ago) link

Probably the only cricket we'll get to watch this year though

groovypanda, Tuesday, 31 March 2020 07:10 (four years ago) link

The Edge is on streaming services I think, will be giving that a go. Probably only for England fans but the ECB have put a load of sessions from the 2013 Ashes online. The sessions come in apparently random order but it's fun to dip into. The URL is a bit weird but I think it works?

The Edge is actually really good. If Trotty doesn't make you bawl, you're a stronger man than I.

Vanishing Point (Chinaski), Tuesday, 31 March 2020 09:02 (four years ago) link

Cheers for the Ashes link! That tour is weirdly blank to me. That Aussie side - Clarke in particular - were pretty unlikeable.

Vanishing Point (Chinaski), Tuesday, 31 March 2020 09:03 (four years ago) link

I was at a couple of the games, including the Old Trafford match when England really ground it out after Clarke scored an excellent century for Australia. A weird series, it could have been 2-2 had things gone a little differently.

Neil S, Tuesday, 31 March 2020 09:21 (four years ago) link

I remember one game where we were lucky with the light but the rest is blank. Will catch up with some of those videos.

as a 33 year-old who still has aspirations of becoming a good club spinner (as opposed to the ropey current model), that is p inspiring

Burns is horrible too. Come on the Windies.

The Fields o' Fat Henry (Tom D.), Wednesday, 8 July 2020 18:19 (three years ago) link

Michael Holding on race/BLM was really good, as everyone said it was.

Well done Windies!

The Fields o' Fat Henry (Tom D.), Sunday, 12 July 2020 17:03 (three years ago) link

Feels like the first team in fifteen years that wouldn’t have choked.

Cool as a cucumber tbh.

This is going well.

Bizarre review from England there.

Magnificent bowling. This is special.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Thursday, 6 August 2020 16:19 (three years ago) link

Good stuff, I really don't like this current England team - batting line-up anyway.

Sonny Shamrock (Tom D.), Thursday, 6 August 2020 16:24 (three years ago) link

abbas is sort of pudgy, unfashionable and utterly demonic, i love watching him bowl

Cracking match

chonky floof (groovypanda), Saturday, 8 August 2020 18:21 (three years ago) link

Pakistan keep losing the ball as Jos Buttler hits it too hard!

Oor Neechy, Friday, 21 August 2020 15:49 (three years ago) link

Crawley's the real deal

Neil S, Friday, 21 August 2020 15:55 (three years ago) link

He's been terrific, the partnership with Buttler has been brilliant.

New ball might change things. 1 wicket could bring a collapse quite easily.

Oor Neechy, Friday, 21 August 2020 16:40 (three years ago) link

or England could score quite quickly

Oor Neechy, Friday, 21 August 2020 16:41 (three years ago) link

3 no balls in 1st over with new ball. Pakistan feeling the pressure. They cant afford to waste the new ball.

Oor Neechy, Friday, 21 August 2020 16:46 (three years ago) link

Ball is swinging now. Going to be a tough 8 overs now I reckon.

Oor Neechy, Friday, 21 August 2020 16:50 (three years ago) link

Excellent day for England. Would love to see Crawley get his double ton and Jos get his ton. They both deserve it. Two cracking test match innings.

Oor Neechy, Friday, 21 August 2020 18:23 (three years ago) link

And they have done. Beginning to think Crawley might be the answer to our #3 problem.

Oor Neechy, Saturday, 22 August 2020 14:06 (three years ago) link

Crawley out for 267

Oor Neechy, Saturday, 22 August 2020 15:29 (three years ago) link

That is a brilliant catch down legside by Buttler

Oor Neechy, Sunday, 23 August 2020 17:19 (three years ago) link

Jimmy is the greatest of all time. First fast bowler to take 600 test wickets. Incredible achievement.

Oor Neechy, Tuesday, 25 August 2020 15:40 (three years ago) link

The greatest what of all time?

imago, Tuesday, 25 August 2020 15:41 (three years ago) link

Incredible achievement but when Walsh became leading wicket-taker of all time nobody argued he was the greatest then and nobody serious would of it now

imago, Tuesday, 25 August 2020 15:41 (three years ago) link

Do
