How many of these post-1999, non-episode Star Wars canon things have you seen?

I have no interest in most of these and I don't generally read comics anymore either, BUT the two Darth Vader comics mini-series (one by Kieron Gillen and the other by Charles Soule) are legit excellent.

I'd put Rebels above the other animated stuff by a large margin, although I haven't seen all of it

I saw a couple of the Forces of Destiny clips and they're an interesting concept, especially for kids. Reimagining or contextualizing little character moments with some stylistic flourishes

i'm watching/reading the entire nu-canon in in-universe chronological order rn. about halfway thru the clone wars series. before commencing this project the only thing here i'd seen was rogue one. have not seen solo.

several action sequences in the tartakovsky clone wars (mostly in the first "volume") are extremely pretty; the cgi canon show occasionally approaches it in places like the opening of "jedi crash" (s1e13, first of a two-parter that rips off a star trek tos episode but adds an ominous final shot) but does suffer visually whenever it slows down to focus on its hideous-looking characters-- sadly especially in the episode that is a parody of notorious. however the late republic / clone wars are my fave star wars era and i am anxious to see how ahsoka-- who has never known an unmilitarized jedi order-- will handle the fascist transition. (the movie is a slog.)

while reading CATALYST: A ROGUE ONE NOVEL, about the development of the death star, i kept thinking of shakey's recurring "how many death stars are in this one" thing, which is an extremely accurate take on star wars imo: from one perspective the protagonist is not anakin but the death star, this symbol of genocidal power+control recurring like a nightmare, always struggling to be born, never getting blown up for good. hopefully when i get to the force awakens this line of thought won't have twisted me into liking that ridiculous solar system gun.

Just Rogue and Solo as of now, but my son has expressed some interest in watching Clone Wars and Rebels with me so I may be starting into those soon.

Ahsoka's really the best thing that comes out of the series, an original protagonist that gets things right and walks away

i for one could not get past the dialogue, all of the inspiring speech scenes, the way it undercuts itself emotionally, how it has too many characters and no focus, how it looks like shit

i'm also a huge prequel fan so i admit my position will be incoherent to most of this board

When Disney first announced they were doing stand alone non-trilogy movies set in Star Wars world it seemed like a cool idea but kinda became clear that that only works if your willing to be unfussy about it and make genre type films that are more mid-level or disposable instead of a billion dollar movie every time which isn’t possible now unfortunately.

I liked Force Awakens, have never seen the original three and have no memory of the prequels - Rogue One didn’t have any interesting characters like FA nor any of the humor. It was just relentlessly plodding.

I watched all of Clone Wars over most of this year but I'd recommend using an episode guide to just watch the best 2-3 arcs per season. The quality is all over the place and there's whole Jar Jar or Senate arcs that suck. Probably my favorite thing about the show is they make Anakin into an actual likable character! Ahsoka is also great

I got bullied into watching Star Wars/Shitehawk Strikes Back/Return of the Tedium in one sitting in a cinema in Bradford in the mid 80's by this wretched psychotic wifebeater who married my sister. Give me Tatarovsky any day of the week over this degenerate American trash.
