Zombie Pacers looking extremely good. It’s a shame Goga’s minutes will dwindle now Turner/Sabonis are back in ... Goga is already a great interior defender. Everyone looking a little better than expected; Warren continues to look like a + defender, and McConnell has looked like a really great pass-first pg for the 2nd team.

Difficult to know who gets rotation minutes once everybody is healthy (Dipo, Brogden, Lamb, Sumner out now, Turner and Sabonis just coming back), team is a total question mark until post all-star. Incredibly good sign they’d be a low playoff seed even w/o everyone. If the team is already felling defensively, who’ll be really cool to see what it looks like w/ everyone healthy (though can’t imahine Dipo will be 100% this season).

Underrated good vibes having Holiday Bros, they share a lot of minutes and def link up. Feel like most bro same-team combos tend to be forwards, funny when it’s two guards. Justin has been launching a ton of 3a off of Aaron drives, and Justin always gets it to Aaron in transition really quickly.

turned to celtics just in time to catch one of brother brads trademark hopeless second quarter lineups

lag∞n, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 02:49 (four years ago) link

celtics look pretty awful without hayward, dunno about your plan to get rid of him

ciderpress, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 02:57 (four years ago) link

i really do not understand how harden does what he does maybe hes magical or cursed

I was thinking something just like this earlier today. I think part of the reason he is so polarizing is he dominates the game in a way that is alternately offensive and inscrutable to our accumulated understanding of the way superstars dominate. it’s easy to see why people hate him, and they’re not wrong, but at the same time you just have to respect the craft

delightful sequence at the end of wolves/jazz had joe ingles pathetically trying to get fouled on like 5 consecutive pump fakes from behind the line and the refs not entertaining any of them.

The Marvin Bagley draft choice may go down in history with Sam bowie

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 04:55 (four years ago) link

A healthy Sam Bowie should have been a respectable lottery pick, but more like number 4 through 6 instead of number 2. The game back then was built more around big centers on the low block. A few years later the Drexler-Porter-Kersey Blazers still made the NBA Finals with Kevin Duckworth at center, but Bowie could have filled that starting center spot equally well. Bowie's body just couldn't hack it, but the talent was there.

What I like about Harden is he gives me something to truly loathe. Makes me feel alive.

He was never gonna be as good as Barkley or Jordan. There’s always reasons why people do the wrong thing.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 15:16 (four years ago) link

iirc that was another case of we already have a guy like that

lag∞n, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 15:44 (four years ago) link

Right they needed a center. And as bobby knight famously told them “play Jordan at center”

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 15:52 (four years ago) link

lol

Sources: After passing his physical exam, Carmelo Anthony signed his one-year, non-guaranteed deal with Portland today. It will be worth $2.15M should he remain on roster past guarantee date in January.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 16:53 (four years ago) link

he still thinks he's a top nba player. feel like this will be his last shot and then he goes overseas (or just enjoys the nearly 300+ million hes made thus far)

What I like about harden is that he cares about the regular season.

cares about winning reg season games or about getting reg season stats?

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Tuesday, 19 November 2019 16:59 (four years ago) link

both

de-mamba mentality (Spottie), Tuesday, 19 November 2019 17:03 (four years ago) link

i just find it kinda fun that he plays every game and tries to put up insane numbers. i dont much like it in the basketball aesthetic sense cos i dont care for his style of play... and obv he hasnt gotten it to work all the way to a championship. But we are in a time when the reg season means less and less every year and he is still out there suiting up and dropping 40/10/10 on the regular. and as a junky who loves to watch regular season games, i appreciate it. one of the worst things to happen to the nba on many levels was the warriors going 73-9 and not winning the chip. they got clowned and now the regular season means even less. that season was so fun because they were trying to win every game like it was a playoff game., and everyone wanted to take them down.

de-mamba mentality (Spottie), Tuesday, 19 November 2019 17:11 (four years ago) link

how have I never heard this story!

mike dan tony (Clay), Tuesday, 19 November 2019 17:15 (four years ago) link

Everyone is acting like the regular season doesn’t matter but I feel like in the western conference it’s never mattered more

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 17:27 (four years ago) link

Knight said MJ was best basketball player he'd ever seen before MJ even played an NBA game
