After the biggest of his several big dunks against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, an alley-oop from Javonte Green in the second half, Robert Williams flexed his long arms and walked into the basket stanchion -- staring straight ahead as if he had something to say to the hoop. He stood there for a minute by himself, seemingly examining the padding.

What did he say?

“Like, ‘ahh,’” Williams said, imitating a scream (without the volume), then he repeated it a little longer. “'Ahhhhhhhh.'”

i was trying to think if the celtics have had a serious vertical spacing threat, like, ever?

call all destroyer, Sunday, 10 November 2019 18:10 (four years ago) link

trying to think

lag∞n, Sunday, 10 November 2019 18:23 (four years ago) link

lag∞n, Sunday, 10 November 2019 18:26 (four years ago) link

im jealous, pop doesnt like athleticism bc he thinks its against the rules of basketball

romeo might get a lil burn w hayward out

Critics announce they have recalled Romeo Langford from Maine, likely to serve as wing depth after Hayward went down.

I am making Celtics highlights right now, but I'll make highlights from last night's Red Claws' big win, too as all three Celtics had a big first game over there:

Romeo Langford: 27 pts, 5 reb, 6 blk
Tremont Waters: 28 pts, 4 reb, 3 ast
Tacko Fall: 13 pts, 11 reb, 3 blk

15mins a night tops for this guy he does not have the correct mindtype

Fist pump from Enes Kanter after a huddle with Brad and the trainers. Said he’s cleared to play.

dont think theres really any other choice than letting rob start

Robert Williams currently leads the NBA with an offensive rating of 124.5. Aron Baynes (119.4) comes in at No. 2.

Celtics continue to have good vibes

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 11 November 2019 21:36 (four years ago) link

their vibes are way up

lag∞n, Monday, 11 November 2019 21:57 (four years ago) link

its funny they swapped their best player who was famously disliked for someone who is famously liked

lag∞n, Monday, 11 November 2019 21:59 (four years ago) link

being famously liked kicks ass

ciderpress, Monday, 11 November 2019 22:01 (four years ago) link

the talent gap isnt even that big tbh. and being that kemba is willing to do the things (move around off the ball) that kyrie wasnt willing to do it may even be an upgrade.

de-mamba mentality (Spottie), Monday, 11 November 2019 22:02 (four years ago) link

i agree with this statement, kyries balls topping was a big problem

lag∞n, Monday, 11 November 2019 22:03 (four years ago) link

also his poor defense

lag∞n, Monday, 11 November 2019 22:04 (four years ago) link

such a balls topper he is

de-mamba mentality (Spottie), Monday, 11 November 2019 22:04 (four years ago) link

not here to shame anyone

lag∞n, Monday, 11 November 2019 22:05 (four years ago) link

enjoying kemba strategy too hes totally playing the closer, pretty much chills in the flow of the offense until its faltering then attacks

lag∞n, Monday, 11 November 2019 22:07 (four years ago) link

lol theres a tall nerd kemba likes to pick on

Kemba drills this shot over 6-foot-10 Maxi Kleber. He simulated this type of shot over a big time and time again during his pregame workout by shooting them over 7-foot-2 member of the Celtics video team Jordan Bachynski. pic.twitter.com/EtXFazTLVY

It feels @smart_MS3 does something amazing every single game. How about this remarkable behind-the-pass? Added 17 points vs Mavs, too.

rating the celtics roster by celtics mindtype levels

top tier extreme feistiness
1 marcus smart (obvs)
kemba walker
jaylen brown

solid less passionate but with grit
jayson tatum
daniel theis
grant williams
brad wanamaker

existing outside conventional definitions of a celtic or not a celtic
rob williams

tantalizing basketballwise unclear celticswise
romeo
carsen edwards
tako fall
javonte green
tremont waters
vincent poirier

just bad at basketball sorry
semi

does not possess the celtics mindtype
enes kanter (thinks hes cute)
gordon hayward (should be repatriated to the midwest where he can game in peace)

lag∞n, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 17:09 (four years ago) link

if they constructed a roster of all top two tier players +rob williams they could out perform their talent by two playoff rounds

lag∞n, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 17:20 (four years ago) link

they already have a starting 5 that fits the bill (tho theis is prob better coming off the bench), and they have hayward kanter young guys and draft picks to trade....

lag∞n, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 17:23 (four years ago) link

fwiw im sure were about to have a media deluge of are the celtics for real and speaking as someone who has watched most of the games i can confidently say theyre not nearly as good as their record/point differential wld suggest, pretty much the only game they looked really good was vs the spurs, this is mostly due to their bench being trash which is now exacerbated by hayward being out, theyre prob about to take some not great losses, their starting 5 is legit tho (wld be even more so w a starting quality center).......

lag∞n, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 17:28 (four years ago) link

also the starting 5 w smart instead of hayward just makes more sense (even tho he has been great) theres just not enough shots to go around w kemba jaylen hayward and jayson all out there

lag∞n, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 17:30 (four years ago) link

they're certainly not the best team in the league but i don't think 8-1 is a top decile outcome for them or anything

ciderpress, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 17:56 (four years ago) link

think it might be tho the sched has been weak and the vibes good

lag∞n, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 18:01 (four years ago) link

it's 1-2 more wins than you'd expect them to get in 9 games doesn't seem taht crazy
