last 24 hours folks tho in reality its until seandalai says so when he sets up the form, but please get your thinking caps on. There's been 3 weeks for noms so hopefully nothings been forgotten and please everybody follow the excellent Spotify playlist https://open.spotify.com/playlist/25z8VHJxPnwVJLlQI3ImlK

There really is plenty of songs to appeal to everyone on ilm (except maybe Tuomas)

Lots of styles and great songs from the absolute poppiest to the extreme.

If people give the playlist a listen I know they can find many songs they will like.

The World According To.... (Michael B), Friday, 8 November 2019 14:43 (four years ago) link

The Living End - Roll On
Taking Back Sunday - MakeDamnSure

Mordy, Friday, 8 November 2019 15:18 (four years ago) link

We opened up the poll to emo, nu metal, pop punk etc but there's not been much added disappointingly so thanks mordy for nominating some.

Total lack of mainstream metal noms though. I hoped somebody would nominate that.

While its no problem adding songs after noms end, it does mean ppl who have already voted wont have been able to vote for or hear them on the Spotify playlist so please get the thinking caps on folks and nominate!

"Darkspace 4.18", Trans Am's "Shining Path" and Shape of Despair's "Reaching the Innermost" (which had I known beforehand was considered doom metal, would've instantly turned me off, but it's a lot more '80s atmospheric goth) are my recent finds!

Antonym Scalia (Leee), Sunday, 17 November 2019 22:40 (four years ago) link

I wish I'd had nominated some Multishiva

the oxford book of chaos (Drugs A. Money), Monday, 18 November 2019 11:10 (four years ago) link

Heard from seandalai and he can set up the voting form at the weekend. I assume most of you have been listening to the nominations Spotify playlist so we will only need a few weeks voting period

Vote (with a bullet) (Oor Neechy), Thursday, 21 November 2019 22:16 (four years ago) link

Time to let you decide : do you want voting period to end on the 14th Dec and results hopefully roll out before xmas or wait until 1st week back in jan?

Vote (with a bullet) (Oor Neechy), Friday, 22 November 2019 01:15 (four years ago) link

has everyone lost interest? want to wait til after eoy polls?

Vote (with a bullet) (Oor Neechy), Friday, 22 November 2019 15:46 (four years ago) link

My ballot list will be a lot like my nom list except ranked and including entries nominated by others.

beard papa, Saturday, 23 November 2019 04:47 (four years ago) link

has everyone lost interest? want to wait til after eoy polls?

This might not be a terrible idea? With maybe re-instating with another three or four days of nominating (very brief just to ease back into it). I'd kind felt that this was pretty much the worst time for any kind of generalized genre poll, what with our EOY polls just around the corner and with a lot of end-of-decade lists coming out as well. It's super easy to get lost in the shuffle

the oxford book of chaos (Drugs A. Money), Sunday, 24 November 2019 05:25 (four years ago) link

two weeks pass...

saw that noms were open again during postponement so here's some more I missed that I wanted to vote for:

ColdWorld - Tortured By Solitude
Nocturnal Depression - Acédie
Purson - The Sky Parade
Thy Light - The Bridge

I'll load them onto the playlist! Will be sure to campaign for stuff as well. Thanks!!

Frobisher, Thursday, 12 December 2019 03:08 (four years ago) link

nevermind I guess the playlist is closed.
