A dentist fucked up years ago and made tooth bad and cracked. Now need root canal. Still costs like £700-800 even on the NHS - how? Cancelled one appointment because poor, next one in two weeks. Just had emergency appointment with nice sadist who plugged up tooth with temporary stuff, laughing. Crying on bench in town and mouth is still currently partially numb with anaesthetic. Taking dihydrocodeine - upthread muscle relaxants are mentioned - does it work?

it is genuinely much cheaper to fly to eastern europe to have a root canal, I had one for about £10 (was living there at the time, didn't fly out specially) I mean it still wasn't a lot of fun

at the time I was hanging around with american ex junkies and was surprised by their extensive knowledge of over the counter tooth pain treatment

That’s actually not a terrible idea. I will look into it!

I've never had much luck with dentists but for first time I found one I'm super happy with this year, though I doubt it can compete with Eastern European prices

actually I looked it up and apparently it doesn’t matter where you’re based for a dentist? Not saying it’s the cheapest but could work out the same as travelling with costs etc and easier if you need aftercare.

Apparently it’s like £300 for the actual root canal and then a varied amount for the crown depending on size and whether or not you want a white one which vanity insists that I do. I will get it done, it just sucks so much until then. You’re right about staying local for after care though... Pain has at least worn off to the point of being able to walk around.
