I’m usually very pro-drugs but Miguel is the sort of artist who I think would benefit from cutting down on them. Everything he has released since Wildheart sounds unfocused to me. Hell, even Wildheart sounds unfocused tbh.

“Do You?” is about MDMA which he has admitted to liking. I can’t find the interview so maybe I’m mistaking him, but I remember seeing one where he sort of admitted having seasons of smoking weed daily before breakfast.

I mean they’re “soft drugs” so whatever but daily use sort of kills the recreational use of it imho.

I thought it was just a coincidence that I've heard "Sure Thing" whenever I've had the radio on in the car lately, because one of the top 40 stations here recently retooled their format to add more older songs, and so there are now two stations that play stuff like Ne-Yo and Usher on the regular.

it became a hit again this year, getting the play at top 40 stations it probably should have gotten 10 years ago. pretty much all such stations are playing it now, regardless of how gold-heavy they've set themselves up to be (tho yes, more stations are upping their ratio of throwbacks to currents lately)

yeah I figured that out after I looked at the Hot 100 for the first time in a while
