Even for 2002 it was a terrible list though.

i can't tell if the original spin list was a troll. Can't think of any other reason solo DLR made this list.
(also, 1984 shouldn't even be on the list of top 40 Van Halen albums)

hehe Appetite For Destruction, that’s some Grade A trolling. I’m not sure that’s even the best 1987 record by a hair band, with Whitesnake, Permanent Vacation and Hysteria as competition.

All three of those albums are trash, and I actually like Whitesnake more than a lot of people. But their hair metal move was cynical and watered-down compared to Slide It In.

I mean even for 2002 it's remarkable how many major subgenre canonical albums are missing. No Venom, no Earth, no Sleep, no St. Vitus, no Death, no Morbid Angel, way too heavy on the 80s pop metal axis and also GnR fucking suck and have always sucked and are about as metal as Rod Stewart.
