pretty much any player who's been in the nba for 3 seasons can handle the physicality of the game, i always think that point is overplayed (i.e. when ppl used to say you just need to knock steph curry down)
― J0rdan S., Monday, 28 October 2019 16:24 (four years ago) link
one thing abt physical play is its really tiring, harden steph et al being able to take one million step back 3s in a game while remaining fresh is a direct result of the league mandated tightening officiating, theyve gone a lil too far imo harden shdnt be allowed to do that shit
― lag∞n, Monday, 28 October 2019 16:28 (four years ago) link
Physical play means bruises and stuff which doesn’t knock anyone other than anthony davis out of games

physicality matters in terms of post defense and in terms of guys who try to drive to the basket using strength not quickness but those are more about effectiveness than injury risk/wear and tear.

another guy the heat pulled off scrap heap who looks like a legitimate NBA player. and being a legit wing makes it pretty interesting. w/ butler out and dragic coming off the bench they've been running a lot of offense thru him at the starts of games.
btw he was given a partial guarantee as an UDFA by the warriors, ended up on their d league team and was cut @mattarmstrong

The Lakers canceled today’s practice. The team came in this morning for one of Rob Pelinka’s “Genius Talks.” Today’s guest: David Blaine. After his talk, Frank Vogel brought team together and, following a nice win over Charlotte, gave them the rest of the day off.— Bill Oram (@billoram) October 28, 2019

Jackie Mac with the goods:https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/27947336/for-culture-kd-kyrie-comes-next-nets
Yet Irving's infamous mood swings, confirmed by his ex-teammates, which followed him from Cleveland to Boston to Brooklyn, are the unspoken concern that makes Nets officials queasy. When Irving lapses into these funks, he often shuts down, unwilling to communicate with the coaching staff, front office and, sometimes, even his teammates. Nets team sources say one such episode occurred during Brooklyn's trip to China, leaving everyone scratching their heads as to what precipitated it. There's hope that Durant will be able to coax his friend into a better frame of mind. But when presented with that scenario, KD says he will be hands off."I look at Kyrie as somebody who is an artist," Durant says. "You have to leave him alone. You know what he'll bring to the table every night because he cares so much about the game.

There has already been leeway to allow Irving to march to his own drum. The Nets are willing to look past moments like the photo shoot at the Pearl TV Tower in China, when Irving refused to remove his hat and instructed them to photoshop it out. They will focus more on the bigger issue of sharing the ball and maintaining good team chemistry.
