it was a resolute but mostly awful performance for lovers of the game - we've played 10 times better and got absolutely nothing multiple times in the last 18 months. i'll take an ugly shithousing bastard of an away win at Stoke on a cold tuesday right now though!

FC United 5-0 up after just half an hour against Buxton.

hard to forget the answer to one of the questions after being escorted/separated from a bunch of them on a train by british transport police after we'd just won a first leg L2 playoff game against Lincoln City and they'd been relegated from the prem after 4-0 mauling at early KO at Stamford Bridge.

some Nostradamus shouted "Welcome to the football league lads, you'll get used to it!"

calzino, Tuesday, 22 October 2019 23:13 (four years ago) link

an absolute amazing reaction save by our rookie keeper followed by a total howler of a follow up miss of the season candidate, so I'll take a point against this shower of shite.

Ouch

calzino, Wednesday, 23 October 2019 21:16 (four years ago) link

After a couple of terrible results, we clock up our biggest derby victory against the snot since 1925, apparently.

Tim, Saturday, 26 October 2019 16:13 (four years ago) link

6 games unbeaten inc 3 wins, we have our first guaranteed 25 a goals a season striker since .. erm Pawel Abbott. Yet we still are absolutely awful to watch at times... but staying up is on again. Need to ditch Elphick fast, he's an old laggard well past his best and with too many dumb mistakes in him.

national league north fixtures today wiped out by the rain, only 3 out of 11 matches were played

congrats Tim!

calzino, Saturday, 26 October 2019 21:49 (four years ago) link

My only regret today is that there’s a roof on our away end nowadays.

Tim, Saturday, 26 October 2019 23:46 (four years ago) link

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/oct/30/derby-sack-richard-keogh-car-crash-reduced-wages

a classic of the genre including drink driving, a player fleeing the scene of the crime and then returning 45 minutes later, a club cynically taking the moral high ground to sack an old laggard on high wages. Also Giggsy turned up to give a character reference for Tom Lawrence in court.

calzino, Friday, 1 November 2019 09:52 (four years ago) link

gotta love a team bonding day

Xia Nu del Vague (Noodle Vague), Friday, 1 November 2019 10:03 (four years ago) link

when Keogh was on loan at Town he was really shit and his keyboard warrior mum kept logging onto the Hudds forum and getting into flame wars with anyone who dissed him, which was about 99% of posters.

calzino, Friday, 1 November 2019 10:08 (four years ago) link

Lol. I can see him making a case against Derby though. First demanding a 'my way or the highway' wage cut, and when it's not accepted going for the axe approach with "gross misconduct" is p nagl.

Le Bateau Ivre, Friday, 1 November 2019 10:11 (four years ago) link

yeah i'd imagine he'll win, he wasn't even driving was he?

Xia Nu del Vague (Noodle Vague), Friday, 1 November 2019 10:12 (four years ago) link

yeah but he was illegally not using his seat-belt! (whilst probably coked up)

calzino, Friday, 1 November 2019 10:14 (four years ago) link

He didn't drive and was left for dead while his mates fled the scene lol! One of them has been getting regular playing time since.

Le Bateau Ivre, Friday, 1 November 2019 10:15 (four years ago) link

i know it's cruel but it's pretty funny really! I mean out in the real world how many of us would feel lucky to be offered £5k a week to sit on our arse for a year?

calzino, Friday, 1 November 2019 10:18 (four years ago) link

we certainly won't be going down now and we totally picked your pocket for that Karlan Grant lad, imago - soz. He's turning out to be one of our best signings of the decade.

calzino, Saturday, 2 November 2019 17:10 (four years ago) link

another cracking win for Hull as well today, something's started to click there, just in time for the usual "can they hold on to Jarrod Bowen?" window

Xia Nu del Vague (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 2 November 2019 17:14 (four years ago) link

I never really rated Grant! Weird. I guess he's getting good service

imago, Saturday, 2 November 2019 17:37 (four years ago) link

He was feeding off scraps when we were up against prem defences and still scored a few and has improved some since then

calzino, Saturday, 2 November 2019 17:45 (four years ago) link

Coolest pen taker as well which is what you need for the pla....

calzino, Saturday, 2 November 2019 17:52 (four years ago) link

i think you'll find we still have the coolest pen taker

imago, Saturday, 9 November 2019 18:46 (four years ago) link

we got outshithoused today, that'll be a valuable lesson to our oh so charming management duo.

calzino, Saturday, 30 November 2019 02:47 (four years ago) link

the predictable town 0 vile revenant 4 debacle still hurting like a bleeding abscess spurting blood out of my arse. thursday's exit poll is released. A lot to to absorb in a week STOP I may be gone for some ti

calzino, Saturday, 7 December 2019 01:35 (four years ago) link

this is going to be brutal - a patched up team of square pegs in round holes and a bench of U18's - fucking hell i can't even watch.

calzino, Saturday, 7 December 2019 12:02 (four years ago) link

words that apply extremely well to our own injury-ravaged squad. we had 14 out last week ffs

imago, Saturday, 7 December 2019 12:05 (four years ago) link

barring spectacular investment i can unfortunately see this being an 'it's us or you' situation come season's end

imago, Saturday, 7 December 2019 12:06 (four years ago) link

<3 u calz but this is us or u and no prisoners taken at that

imago, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 16:45 (four years ago) link

Lol I'm so apathetic about Town and disgusted by our racist gammon section I didn't even know we we were playing tonight! As defined by the geneva convention ruling on child soldiers, they are legally considered victims of war and taking them as prisoners is a war-crime.

calzino, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 18:00 (four years ago) link

tbf arguing with pig ignorant morons on football forums about the absolute state of the Conservative Party and the BBC does out a lot of decent posters as well, they are just a minority unfortunately.
