so with the third episode airing at the same time as Mr America is screening in cinemas, looks like they’re racing to have the show/Tim ready to go off the rails in ep 4

Also apparently being unfamiliar enough with her decades-long career that he's never heard her name pronounced.

He hasn't indulged his penchant for arson in a while. As far as we know.

This was beautiful <3

But the truth of the matter is they already had me again at seeing Tim's tie. I'm so glad these guys are back.

And the knowing finger wag accompanying 'The Wizard of Oz!' as if discerning that Judy Garland played Dorothy was a code no one else had been able to solve.

five bags for frogbs for starting this thread in time for ILX to be watching along w/ the combo of new season and movie. and :D at spotting this by going back to the start of the thread:

Worth looking for: the episode of The Best Show from a couple years back where Tim and Gregg take up about an hour of the show arguing over whether or not Tim actually saw the Tom Cruise remake of The Mummy.

― Herman Woke (cryptosicko), Wednesday, July 3, 2019 1:44 AM (two months ago)

Is this the call where Tim and Greg spend like an hour arguing about whether or not Tim saw the Tom Cruise version of the The Mummy? If so, that was my gateway into On Cinema.

also

i can't imagine the twist of port of call hawaii being nearly as hilarious without on cinema

― american bradass (BradNelson), Thursday, September 19, 2019 2:59 AM (one week ago)

yeah but imagine the joy at rewatching Port Of Call as part of On Cinema and now getting all the jokes that made no sense before. what a treat.

i mean that does sound great

american bradass (BradNelson), Thursday, 26 September 2019 20:30 (four years ago) link

watching the original Decker series and then later seeing the On Cinema episode where they record Gregg's parts was incredible...that's when I knew this series was something special. especially since I rewatched the "Master of Codes" episode so many times

the Special Agent Kington character is one of those things that pretty much always makes me laugh. idk why but I just find it so funny

Non stop chantar (crüt), Saturday, 28 September 2019 02:39 (four years ago) link

MoneyZap was an actual dotcom-era money transfer service launched by Western Union... if you wanna go back in the fintech 1.0 annals it was probably PayPal's biggest competitor.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Saturday, 28 September 2019 03:53 (four years ago) link

OMG, what if Tim bought the irl Money Zap and the entire On Cinema experiment has just been an effort to encourage fans to use the service ironically? 'Wau guys, I just got a $25,000 loan from Money Zap, totes hilar'

The movie with Rihanna called BATTLESHIP was on at the gym last night and it is SO Decker... I was laughing very hard in particular at the scene where they decide to fight aliens with the USS Missouri which conveniently came preloaded with live ammunition and super old veterans perched all over the deck in various badass poses, ready to fight. For Decker heads it's a must watch. Only difference is the budget being slightly higher, and the target demo is frat bros.

"Think of your favorite movie and I’ll bet you think of a vivid and memorable setting," said Horowitz, a correspondent for MTV News. "This series brings those iconic locations back to life with the participants themselves. As a film lover, I'm honored to be the guy to bring viewers along for the ride."

I've got tix for On Cinema at the Cinema Live at the Vancouver Film Festival this weekend. "This multi-media stage show provides a mega-dose of the movie expertise and colourful disagreements you've come to expect from hosts Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington. The show features special guest appearances from beloved cast members of the On Cinema/Decker Universe." :)

the part during the trial where Tim walks in alone and tells the judge he's going to represent himself gives me chills, it's like the scene in Pulp Fiction where Bruce Willis is looking at all the weapons on the wall at the pawn shop and sees the baseball bat. you know what's about to go down.
