There is a typo in the thread title for ILB's recently fledged 'What Are You Reading' thread for autumn. This is deeply distressing to the bibliophiles who must pollute their eyes with this abomination of a typo (Hint: "Driifts"). Could this mistake be rectified please?

NB: I can truthfully swear that this typo was not made by Karl Malone, who has faithfully kept his pledge never to make another typo on ILX again.

May be missing the point here are you saying that if someone parodically said that trump is second coming of christ you think there'd be outrage around here, or that there should be?

Meh, it's a bit different than that.

I just think that if someone made the equivalence between Q and Judaism, or Q and Islam, it wouldn't really fly. But somehow when it's a minority religion and social practice, it's cool for laffs.

Judaism is an ethnic religion, the others are not. I don’t think we should systematically assume the worst every time someone jokes about a religion other than Christianity, but I come from a different cultural background, so make of that what you will.

I wasn't going for "laffs" so much as I was trying to make a point about the budding sort of supernatural religious thinking over a living historical figure but I could have done that without the Rasta comparison. No disrespect to Rastafarians intended at all. (I've uh, been listening to a lot of roots reggae lately too so its rubbed off a bit).

There are not very many mods. Mostly we don't need very much moderation in this forum these days. When the need does arise - particularly overnight - it might take a minute.

I forgot about his homeless post. he was weird in that he seemed like a bot at times but then posts that hateful stuff randomly amidst the harmless stuff.

That is all true, yeah, but I still feel bad that something like that was left up. Apologies.
