Still got a pretty high cackling with glee to playtime ratio though, mostly just from the ragdoll physics resulting from car crashes and mortally wounded people getting knocked off bridges by trains and shit

yeah, there's a lot missing from San Andreas but this one seems a LOT more fun! And SA was pretty good fun.

ragdoll physics (or whatevs it is now) is great, I was faced with a 'do i kill him' moment with a guy stood on the edge of some rocks. After fiddling with the controller trying to find the right button to let him go I accidentally pressed 'O' and pushed the poor guy down the cliff, and watched him tumbling down into the water. lol, so i had to shoot him after he swam back to shore.

and motorbike crashes make spectactular viewing.

How did you get your camera phone, ste? Was it given to you? i heard an advert for one on the radio. Also heard an ad for the ZIT music id/download service which I'll be trying once my rockstar social club thing is working...

the arcade game is pretty neat though

I was surprised to read that some of you are taking taxis rather than just jacking cars. I've so far found the cops so easy to evade that sometimes I'll just hop out of whatever car I've currently jacked if I see another one I like, and just jack it. Granted that's not when I'm on a date...

Yeah, stealing a car is just one star, right? You can evade that by just driving to wherever you're headed with no evasive maneuvers.

Has anyone successfully completed the double jump in station square?

At this point, anytime I have to go over a bridge I take a taxi, especially the free Roman taxi. It isn't even a cop-evasion thing, just pure impatience ... especially if I'm driving to complete a mission I've already tried once or twice.

Grenades are 100x more awesome in this game than they were in the previous games.

(For the record, i stopped reading this thread a week or so ago cos I am a spoilerphobe. I'll come back (and start properly multiplaying) once I've finished the main story).

taxis make sense - i do like driving but am seriously bored with having only one safe house across three islands. will i get another one? (don't tell me if you know)

If you look on the map, you'll see a horizontal diamond south of Station Square. It's actually a mound of dirt in a construction area. The jump goes over the freeway where there is a second platform.

i use taxis for when my friends ring, because trying to reach them within an hour by driving is nigh on impossible.

i was flying a chopper around the large factory area on the third island and when i approached the large cooling towers, I swear there was a person stood on the very top on the rim running around. As i got closer he just jumped inside.

The alleyway dude drives up at 1.10 looks just like the place near the bridge on the 1st island in GTA3 where the rocket launcher rampage was. Weirdly familiar. Bit where the dude beats the hooker down so he can recover his money and she limps off clutching her stomach is a bit...er....much? Eh.

If you're going for the all guns blazing approach then - be more subtle.

Finally got it in glasgow. This is the first grand theft auto that i've completely fell in love with.
