No doubt about it

incredibly, the rex ryan/mark sanchez/buttfumble era is the apex of the jets' last 30+ seasons

you have to go back to ken o'brien/wesley walker/freeman mcneil in the mid-80s to find something better

mookieproof, Tuesday, 17 September 2019 02:24 (four years ago) link

the buttfumble ruled

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 September 2019 02:28 (four years ago) link

the jets made the playoffs 6 times between 1998-2010, reaching the conf. champ 3 times!!! the playoff-making QBs: testaverde, pennington, sanchez

not an enviable peak, but my lions-fan friends are jealous

Mommy...can I go out and VAPE tonight? (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 17 September 2019 14:32 (four years ago) link

they nearly made it with Favre too but blew it in the last quarter of the season

(my theory is that Favre was badly injured but wouldn't sit & the Jets coaching staff didn't want to blow his streak, so they just lost out instead)

frogbs, Tuesday, 17 September 2019 14:38 (four years ago) link

two of the conference finals were with rex/sanchize, which is why i referred to it as a high point

mookieproof, Tuesday, 17 September 2019 15:10 (four years ago) link

agreed, but the buttfumble itself marked the end of an old era of semi-success and the start of a new one of disastrous failure

btw do you actually know any lions fans

Jets need to bring back Mark Sanchez, save the team!

earlnash, Wednesday, 18 September 2019 00:50 (four years ago) link

Dolphins really are in worse shape, as even though it is Miami, players are lining up at the door to get the heck out of the Hotel FLA.

They should be relegated to the CFL and the Calgary Stampeders move up.

earlnash, Wednesday, 18 September 2019 00:53 (four years ago) link

lol at pitting the titans and jaguars against each other on a thursday night and expecting people to buy the nfl network

mookieproof, Friday, 20 September 2019 02:48 (four years ago) link

The Thursday Night Football under bet just keeps on giving.

Mr. Snrub, Friday, 20 September 2019 11:09 (four years ago) link

hahaha yep

I've hit 4 unders in a row on nationally televised game and now (because I'm dumb as shit) am parlaying that onto Dolphins +24 and Jets +22.5

frogbs, Friday, 20 September 2019 13:32 (four years ago) link

I am debating betting $20 on Miami straight up every week

When I am afraid, I put my toast in you (Neanderthal), Saturday, 21 September 2019 04:29 (four years ago) link

patriots defense seems fairly decent

lag∞n, Sunday, 22 September 2019 19:02 (four years ago) link

Only a modest 23 point lead though. Is this the beginning of the end?

Mario Meatwagon (Moodles), Sunday, 22 September 2019 19:05 (four years ago) link

the loss of antonio brown is really starting to hit home

lag∞n, Sunday, 22 September 2019 19:08 (four years ago) link

lag∞n, Sunday, 22 September 2019 19:19 (four years ago) link

Jets are now massively outscoring the Patriots' last 3 opponents. We are well and truly fucked. RIP.

that jane's addiction drop was great, I don't think they even played the lyrics

Jeff Bathos (symsymsym), Monday, 23 September 2019 05:06 (four years ago) link

Circle the wagons...the Bills are 3-0!

I got to wonder how long until one talking head starts takes a shot about Baker Mayfield's on field body language. That stuff is totally moronic, but it is red meat for the sportsline/radio crowd and Mayfield both at times looked a bit lost playing last night. They definitely need to figure some stuff out, they were muffing hand offs and the O-line was jumping around left and right.

Look at that NFC Central Start...

Packers 3-0
Lions 2-0-1 !!!
Vikings 2-1
Bears 2-1

I'd like to see the Colts play. They have been in tight games each week. They seem like a club that could hang around with anyone, but if they fall behind, got to see it to believe that Brissett can pull that off.

It would be pretty cool if Jacoby Brissett takes that next step and becomes a good starter. It would be hilarious for him to be the guy to lead them into NE and beat them and win a Superbowl. Long long way from that going down, but it seems like for 3 weeks - so far, so good.
