That bbiomechanics account is so bad that sometimes I wonder if it’s all a bot

No way someone is definitely coming up with that stuff. Watching a video of a guy throwing a no look pass and writing “proprioception of hands and feet allows misdirection of gaze with counterbalance posture”

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 30 August 2019 17:54 (four years ago) link

lol one thing i will say for him is that i think hes right abt adaptability vs repeatability

lag∞n, Friday, 30 August 2019 18:03 (four years ago) link

and all the best shooters def know this but it maybe it hasnt trickled down to lower levels of coaching

lag∞n, Friday, 30 August 2019 18:03 (four years ago) link

Sources: Memphis wants three-time champion Andre Iguodala to report to training camp and is refusing right now to engage in buyout, which would prevent Iguodala from finishing a Hall of Fame career on his terms because this may be his final NBA season.

i really don't care about fiba or team usa except for this--this is the first sign of what it's going to look like when the guys drafted in 2012 and earlier aren't relevant anymore.

i just went through bbref sorting every draft class 2013-present by vorp. not a great story.

there's a chance that a few of these dudes make a big leap, but it does seem like all the best prospects and young guys are foreign (doncic, giannis, jokic, embiid, simmons, even KAT might not qualify as a US national)

Mommy...can I go out and VAPE tonight? (voodoo chili), Thursday, 12 September 2019 17:43 (four years ago) link

and i think just in general we might be hitting a different era for talent level around the league. going seamlessly from the lebron/melo/cp3 generation to the durant/harden/steph generation doesn't mean it's going to keep rolling forever.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 12 September 2019 17:58 (four years ago) link

at least zion is as american as apple pie

Mommy...can I go out and VAPE tonight? (voodoo chili), Thursday, 12 September 2019 18:22 (four years ago) link

there's a bunch of guys i want to see one more year from before giving up on them being superstars

ciderpress, Thursday, 12 September 2019 18:26 (four years ago) link

What’s going on rn is the same thing that was going on in 2004 and 2006. Even 2008 they almost lost to Spain iirc. And those teams, especially 08, had a ton of American talent. Past 10 years have probably been the anomaly.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 12 September 2019 18:27 (four years ago) link

Wasn’t 2000 kind of iffy too?

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 12 September 2019 18:27 (four years ago) link

u have to be so much better than the competition to be a sure thing in single elimination, and if yr team is full of second tier guys well

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 September 2019 23:16 (four years ago) link

an underrated aspect is that the other countries really care abt this alot, also they care abt the world cup more than the olympics

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 September 2019 23:17 (four years ago) link

just send the warriors imo

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 12 September 2019 23:18 (four years ago) link

wld be kinda cool to do it that way

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 September 2019 23:21 (four years ago) link

wd def be a way to prove if u r in fact the world champions

wario in the streets, waluigi in the sheets (m bison), Thursday, 12 September 2019 23:42 (four years ago) link

I think a team that's played together would be better off than a bunch of studs trying to figure out what the other studs are doing and who the alpha dog(s) is.

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 12 September 2019 23:48 (four years ago) link

agreed itd have to be a primarily american team tho

lag∞n, Friday, 13 September 2019 03:09 (four years ago) link

also the warriors had two players better than any of team usa

lag∞n, Friday, 13 September 2019 03:10 (four years ago) link

and i think myles turner shd be on the celtics

lag∞n, Friday, 13 September 2019 03:11 (four years ago) link

Yeah it’s single elimination but team USA lost twice (so far) and almost lost to Turkey

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 13 September 2019 16:15 (four years ago) link

France definitely zoned tho, Fournier was a monster in that game

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 13 September 2019 16:16 (four years ago) link

they were not good dont get me wrong

lag∞n, Friday, 13 September 2019 16:20 (four years ago) link

Livingston is retiring

Had a ton of big moments but his game 1 in the 2016 finals was my fav (despite what happened later)

his harden xover is immortal

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 13 September 2019 16:25 (four years ago) link

A huge help would be if they somehow could teach team USA how the fiba goaltending rules work. That probably costs them 1.5 points per game.

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 13 September 2019 16:26 (four years ago) link

I really think that without the knee injury Livingston would have been a top 10 player.

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 13 September 2019 16:26 (four years ago) link

yeah he was an all around player

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 13 September 2019 16:40 (four years ago) link

Bzdelik to the Pelicans. Griffin is killing it over there.

Def, but wasn't this the stated goal when Colangelo took over? Having a core group make a longer core commitment to the team and play in other exhibitions and tourneys then just Olympics and their leadup?

NBA teams have done a 180 on LaMelo Ball after seeing him dominate the Australian NBL Blitz this week. It's time to start talking about him as a real candidate for the #1 overall pick https://t.co/zXo79D0u2l

Free agent forward Marquese Chriss — 8th pick in 2016 NBA Draft — has reached an agreement on a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

i assume no significant guarantee which would be utterly insane given the hard cap. wow.

anyone got odds on warriors missing the playoffs?
