Ohmygod --- the choreography!!!!

NOW THEY HAVE RUINED CHOREOGRAPHY WHERE WILL THEY STOP

鬼の手 (Edward III), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 16:13 (fourteen years ago) link

I can't imagine how anyone -- young or old -- wouldn't find this insanely silly.

Alex in NYC, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 16:26 (fourteen years ago) link

why can't we return to the simple sanity of coheed and cambria

666 BESTIAL WALRUS 666 (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 16:33 (fourteen years ago) link

btw this sounds exactly like every other screamo band that's around right now, nothing new to see here. search other awful bands as underoath, the devil wears prada, etc

Thanks, Casey Westcott Fleet Foxes (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 16:35 (fourteen years ago) link

the devil wears chowda

Kerm, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 16:41 (fourteen years ago) link

wait, underoath and the devil wears prada include hi-nrg synth moves in their songs too? maybe i should give those bands another chance.

scott seward, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 16:53 (fourteen years ago) link

These guys sound nothing like Underoath (not that I'm mounting a defense of either, btw) and only a little like Devil Wears Prada. Actually I think these goofs make TDWP look like frickin' Coalesce by comparison.

Is that a compliment?

Alex in NYC, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 17:00 (fourteen years ago) link

I was thinking this song had everything too, but now I realize it doesn't have any rapping. FROWNY EMOTICON.

bendy, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 17:05 (fourteen years ago) link

Its a backhanded compliment to The Devil Wears Prada for not sucking THIS bad.

this song is the bomb

autogucci cru (deej), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 18:15 (fourteen years ago) link

but is it the bomb-diggity

am0n, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 18:46 (fourteen years ago) link

yes

autogucci cru (deej), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 18:50 (fourteen years ago) link

musically the first minute isn't so bad, overused autotune effect aside.

the eurodance breakdown at the end is hilarious

abanana, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 19:17 (fourteen years ago) link

Can I simultaneously proclaim it awesome, and never really watch it again?

鬼の手 (Edward III), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 19:37 (fourteen years ago) link

Yes, it needs rapping.

Posting this from my abandoned house wearing my black v-neck shirt

Milton Parker, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 02:32 (fourteen years ago) link

oh my god this song :D

cannot choose between 'virtuoso' piano moment, first appearance of autotune or eurodance rave-up

gosh I actually dig this shit (country matters), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 02:33 (fourteen years ago) link

*watches* "So, what does the keyboard player do other than headbang behind his rig?"

*later* "Oh."

*later still* "Ohhhhhhhhh."

Tantrum The Cat, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 02:39 (fourteen years ago) link

wow I thought BEP's "I Gotta Feeling" would be the funniest song I'd hear this week but checkfuckingmate

da croupier, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 02:48 (fourteen years ago) link

Come on, this is great.

Sundar, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 02:56 (fourteen years ago) link

I love how the keyboard player isn't plugged into anything, no power, no cords to the amp, nothing.

I also love how the kid walks in right as the trance synth kicks in. Not only will the other kids not let you in to the show, but when you do finally sneak in it turns out that they were all going to see Aqua.

So I had to stop by the mall to pick up something for my wife and decided to stop in Hot Topic. Don't laugh, its one of the few brick and mortar stores in my area that regularly carries Century Media and Nuclear Blast releases. ANYWAY. Brokencyde and Attack Attack were everyfuckingwhere. I mean, they had AT LEAST 30 copies of each and tshirts tshirts tshirts. Apparently this is most definitely a THING.

only in America. i hope. i pray.

Jamie_ATP, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 15:10 (fourteen years ago) link

hopefully attack attack fares better than brokencyde did in wikipedia's estimation of their relevance

totally prefer Brokencyde, though I do hope (as always) that some more focused youngsters somewhere will provide lengthier explorations of the trance/metal connection

nabisco, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 17:32 (fourteen years ago) link

totally prefer Brokencyde

I phrase I suspect you thought you would never utter.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 17:33 (fourteen years ago) link

in fact I would like to solicit ILM's recommendations for not-too-cheesy trance + metal that doesn't come from cheeky noise bands, because Tatu could only go so far

nabisco, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 17:34 (fourteen years ago) link

Rolling "teh lolz" draadje

am0n, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 17:34 (fourteen years ago) link

are they laughing at americans

鬼の手 (Edward III), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 18:31 (fourteen years ago) link

this entire thread can be summed up thusly

BrokeNCYDE single vond ik leuk op een debiele manier, Hollywood Undead had ook een paar aardige singles. Attack Attack! is waardeloos. Beste van het stel is wat mij betreft HORSE the Band met heel veel voorsprong.

鬼の手 (Edward III), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 18:32 (fourteen years ago) link

These guys are such hopeless douchecakes, it's palpably staggering.

Alex in NYC, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 18:36 (fourteen years ago) link

Sometimes I really do imagine AINYC as a ruffled English aristocrat

gosh I actually dig this shit (country matters), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 18:37 (fourteen years ago) link

I mean, OTM, but come now!

I thought he was talking about Dutch music geeks.

Thijs, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 18:42 (fourteen years ago) link

wow you're like candyman except instead of saying it to a mirror at midnight just post dutch on a thread and you appear

鬼の手 (Edward III), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 18:50 (fourteen years ago) link

the candyman says dutch to a mirror at midnight?

da croupier, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 18:51 (fourteen years ago) link

it is midnight

candyman: dutch
mirror: lol

and all this time I thought Stick Stickly was some brilliant Tim & Eric style parody, this is great
(seriously though I hate websites that try to add "humorous commentary" to something that's already funny when all they can write is "uhhh...what?" and "nice grammar, lol")

frogbs, Thursday, 13 December 2012 21:55 (eleven years ago) link

That guy's not illiterate, just very bad at writing.

otm

The Reverend, Thursday, 13 December 2012 22:10 (eleven years ago) link

yeah, that was horrible

( ͡° ͜ʖ͡°) (sic), Thursday, 13 December 2012 23:50 (eleven years ago) link

the commentary is indeed more hateful and irksome than anything that Attack Attack guy wrote. Sure he can't write for toffee, but the journo's writing and overall "HAR HAR HAR LOOK AT THIS GUY, HE CAN'T EVEN PUT A SENTENCE TOGETHER WHAT A MORAN" is about as entertaining as a rusty nail. Considering one is the bass player in a shit post-emo band and the other tries to pass himself off as a writer, I'm struggling to work out who comes off worst.

besides Sunny Real Estate (dog latin), Friday, 14 December 2012 11:50 (eleven years ago) link

on the same level as Oatmeal guy's response to the Gawker article, though at least in that situation both participants can take care of themselves rather than being "lol crabcore guy no write good".

also I am listening to "Stick Stickly" again and it's actually not bad (still hilarious but not terrible)

Arugula Raccoon (DJP), Tuesday, 4 June 2019 20:51 (four years ago) link

Hey, did anyone hear about the time David Cameron met Crunk Pig?

Le Baton Rose (Turrican), Tuesday, 4 June 2019 20:53 (four years ago) link

Phew.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 7 June 2019 20:41 (four years ago) link

I will forever love this sentence:

Around 2006, then-high-schooler Johnny Franck was obsessed with local buttrock band Ambiance.
