I dont remember it getting as good reviews in the UK as Millions did. Or maybe that was only nme. Can anyone remember?

Also why did Don Cab get hardly any UK coverage?

Some great albums on this list, but Mezzanine is always gonna be an all-timer for me.

Maybe someone explained this already but what's the difference between Part 1 and Part 2 on these? Is there a theme I'm missing (other than that for '97 most of the good records were on the list with 'Homogenic' in it)?

After the early polls there was complaints we left out 'canonical' albums so we have 1 list with most of the canon and another with our actual pet faves which the polls were supposed to be about rather than canon.

I played the hell out of that Mark Lanegan record at the time & havent really thought of it since then, curious to dig it out this week & see if it holds up

Even with the many time-honoured classics on this list, my 1998 #1 is still The High Llamas’ Cold and Bouncy (Dots and Loops’ sister album).
