I've been doing this thing where I record unplanned, one-take, hour-long mixes, each of which uses only records that come from a single shelf of my collection (one of those square IKEA shelves that fits like 70 singles). It's mostly a creative way of making myself listen to the records I already own, and to see how I mix. It's also a way of giving more purpose to DJing/collecting records, seeing as I have no opportunities to DJ out. Anyways, I recently made one I'm quite pleased with, from my shelf that spans labels that include but are not limited to mule, dial, smallville, and giegling.
