In "Spider-Man vs. Wolverine", Spidey thinks he's punching Wolverine, but he actually hits Charlie, a non-superpowered woman, who dies. It's revealed Charlie intended that to happen though, so it was suicide by cop.

I was going to ask about Super Turtle but but...

His most recent comic book appearance was in issue #3 of the 2008 miniseries Ambush Bug: Year None, in which he plays a role like the one Superboy-Prime played in Infinite Crisis; after living in limbo with Kal-L and company, Super-Turtle (who now calls himself Clark Kent) starts destroying anyone he considers to be a phony Super-Turtle, including Bat-Mite and Connor Kent.

btw, going back to Comet the Super Horse, let's discuss what Peter David did with the character post Crisis:

http://i.imgur.com/sA4itiY.png

Soon, it was learned that Comet's male form was originally Andrew Jones, a (male) jockey, who had been trampled by horses and "rebuilt" by an organization called "The Stable" as a superhuman with equine DNA. He rebelled against the organization and began operating as a superhero. On one of his first missions he attempted to save a despairing Andrea Martinez (who had just come out to her parents, and been rejected) from an avalanche, but they both died. As with Matrix and Linda Danvers (who had merged into Supergirl, the Angel of Fire), this caused them to combine into one being: the Earth Angel of Love. Comet originally was in love with Supergirl, and since he was the Angel of Love, made her have feelings for him too, but she rejected him when she learned he was also a woman. This opened the door for the third Angel, Blithe, the Angel of Light, to use her powers to exploit Comet's heartbreak, and turn them against Supergirl. She enabled Comet to fully embrace their angel powers, transforming him/herself into a winged centaur. Blithe deceived Comet into joining forces with the Carnivore (a powerful demonic creature who despised the Earth Angels, and sought their power). The Carnivore lost control, however, when Andrea abandoned her anger, learning that her mother had died, and had left a video apology for her actions. The three Earth Angels worked together to stop the Carnivore. Comet began a relationship with Blithe, since she loved both their forms (revealing that Blithe is bisexual).

I was just catching up and saw discussion of this upthread but you beat me to exactly what I wanted to say (re: Year None). It's kind of shocking that the OG Ambush Bug crew was responsible for that POS.

McGrief the Crying Dog (Old Lunch), Friday, 30 August 2019 18:30 (four years ago) link

It should have been on matte paper, but it's definitely one of the greatest jokes in the history of Ambush Bug that issue by issue Didio was reading it and going "Making fun of Identity Crisis? Ha ha, so true, we didn't know what we were doing back then! Hey, Infinite Crisis too? Well, there were some excesses, in hindsight. Taking the piss out of 52? Boy, were the plates spinning on that one!"

And then it got to gags about Final Crisis or whatever was current and he freaked out and pulled the entire final issue of this six-issue making-fun-of-DC miniseries.

the darklord swapped them into each other's bodies, and Criss used his pure hate for Paul Stanley to kill him, so that Stanley would be trapped in Criss' pathetic form and lower royalty entitlement forevermore?

quelle sprocket damage (sic), Monday, 2 September 2019 19:12 (four years ago) link

(also, judging from the balloons, this is one of the 1970s Kiss comics traced over digitally and recoloured in the early '00s? whose appalling notion was this?)

quelle sprocket damage (sic), Monday, 2 September 2019 19:13 (four years ago) link

why marvel's of course! it's the back-up story in the 1995 "Kiss Classics Collectors Edition" with JR jr likely making some quick cash off some old pencils

this was a reprint of a 1970s Kiss comic that included a traced version of the same comic as a backup feature?

there is no possible way that those are scans of a 1995 comic book
