So... have there been any truly memorable rap albums/tapes this year at all? There has certainly been a steady churn of more or less enjoyable rap songs, but which albums/tapes are we going to look back at in five or ten years as defining 2019? (Megan and DaBaby's albums are fun enough I guess, but I'm not loving any of them with a passion.)

also the quando rondo album is called 'from the neighborhood to the stage,' not 'streets'

Thanks. I enjoyed the polo g, but it didn't stay with me.
The thug album was okay, but probably his first release in a while that didn't on some level feel special.
I've skimmed a few of the others, but will try to go back to them.

“Pop Out” remix is unnecessary, but it’s basically a bonus track as it is

Btw, the Polo G album isn't actually very long, but it feels long, as in it could use a bit more variety. I have to be in a particular zone to want to listen to it. If I'm in that particular zone, it's excellent though.

As far as French trap is concerned, TripleGo's Machakil and PNL's Deux frères were both pretty good.

I could never get into PNL, I have to say. Too ambient.

Suit yourself. That's exactly what I like about them.

The PNL album is excellent, imo Au DD is one of the songs of the year.

good to see nocap's hood dictionary on there, will check out soon. i liked the backend child but it felt like there was another level for him to get to.

rio is another one i forgot to mention, he's a cut above his non-sada detroit peers imo. he is the banality king. "I get excited every time my flip phone ring" lol
