4 games out of the wild card with 54 games to play doesn’t sound too bad, even if the majority of those games are against over .500 teams.

They project at around 81-82 wins

It's almost comical how pitchers continue to throw Jeff McNeil first-pitch strikes. Isn't this what scouting reports are for? He's now batting .416/.423/.883 with nine of his 14 home runs on the first pitch of an at-bat.

If you were to graft Alonsos' first half with McNeil's second half, you might have one of the greatest rookie seasons in quite a long time.

I don't think McNeil qualifies

Nats are really the only WC contender with an easier schedule than the Mets henceforth; most in the same neighborhood

Nationals line up three top available pitchers for this weekend in New York — Stephen Strasburg, Patrick Corbin and Aníbal Sánchez moved up to go on normal rest. The Mets have Marcus Stroman, Noah Syndergaard and Jacob deGrom. Big weekend.

The Mets' active 13-1 run is their best 14-game stretch in 29 years.

The Mets went 16-1 from June 17 to July 6, 1990.

Why Panik?

Hechavarría was due $1M roster bonuses each for 100 and 150 days in the majors. Tomorrow would have been his 100th day with the big club. https://t.co/tnQxks3p6e

"It's absolutely our hope and expectation" that Jed Lowrie will play for the Mets this season, Brodie Van Wagenen said. Lowrie has overcome his left side issues, but is still nursing a right calf injury.

Robert Gsellman has a partial lat tear and may be done for the 2019 season.
