It's weird when Moise Kean seems like a fantastic coup but otoh it's up to £36m for a 19yo after a good season in Serie A. I don't even know anymore.

lilcraigyboi (Craigo Boingo), Tuesday, 30 July 2019 12:44 (four years ago) link

It’s an amazing deal. He looks like one of the most talented young strikers Italy has produced in years and the price is a relative steal imo. I am really surprised that Juve agreed to let him go without the €60m buyback clause.

Potentially shifting him and Dybala and keeping Ronaldo / Higuain looks really strange.

ShariVari, Tuesday, 30 July 2019 12:54 (four years ago) link

Yeah, a great deal. Everton doing well so far. Brands rarely disappoints.

For Juve though, SV otm. No idea why they're letting go of the younger hot prospects relatively easily.

Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 30 July 2019 13:09 (four years ago) link

Probably think they'll hate living in the UK and come back eventually after two or three lacklustre seasons.

Arthur Lowe & Love (Tom D.), Tuesday, 30 July 2019 13:39 (four years ago) link

They'll be trapped inside Boris's wall by then tho

Cutrone in confirmed :)

Aston Villa have signed Zimbabwe international midfielder Marvelous Nakamba for an undisclosed fee - their 12th signing of the summer.

MARVELOUS NAKAMBA.

£85m for Maguire then

Number None, Friday, 2 August 2019 15:07 (four years ago) link

oh, seems it's actually 80m. Bargain!

Number None, Friday, 2 August 2019 15:19 (four years ago) link

Nakamba has like three career goals, so there may be limited opportunities for Guy Mowbray to shout "now that WAS marvelous" in that uh inimitable tone he does, but you never know

Dadjokke (Sgt. Biscuits), Friday, 2 August 2019 16:25 (four years ago) link

Personally think Maguire is better than his worst detractors allow and there's always a premium on home grown-ness. Don't see how he doesn't improve Umited

seven against feebs (Noodle Vague), Friday, 2 August 2019 17:22 (four years ago) link

oh he absolutely improves us

Shaw Maguire Lindelof AWB is more than decent

meanwhile, this Lukaku Dybala swap appears to actually be a thing. Weird

about time we had the new Prem thread altho it's not like i'm actually watching the Charunity Shield

Apparently not any more.

What kind of wages do you need to be demanding for the people who gave Alexis Sanchez half a million quid a week to say no?

ShariVari, Monday, 5 August 2019 09:27 (four years ago) link

maybe theyve learned

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Monday, 5 August 2019 09:31 (four years ago) link

yeah i'm not bothered about missing out on Dybala in these circumstances

i'm pretty fucking concerned that we appear to be going into the season with significant reinforcements in midfield or attack though

our midfield options as it stands are fairly grim - Pogba, Matic, McTominay, Fred, Pereira

Number None, Monday, 5 August 2019 09:42 (four years ago) link

Seems like our Hirving Lozano is off to Napoli for around 40m. He's not been playing well recently, and we've got (younger) youngsters eager to fill in his position, still a bit sad to see him go though.

please god please

also there isn't a non-Prem thread for 19-20

seven against feebs (Noodle Vague), Monday, 5 August 2019 20:11 (four years ago) link

eriksen to utd for 50m sounding more solid by the hour

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Monday, 5 August 2019 20:11 (four years ago) link

surely Eriksen to Utd cannot be real. I expect him to have at least two more good years before cynically cashing in giving up all hope in life?

Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 6 August 2019 09:06 (four years ago) link

rumours our mad owner is considering selling our talismanic striker to brentford for no reason

even i would be burning shit to the ground

imago, Tuesday, 6 August 2019 09:21 (four years ago) link

Today's Mirror:

"Bruno Fernandes agent 'holds fresh Man Utd transfer talks' ahead of £65m move"

"Bruno Fernandes 'agrees personal terms with Tottenham' to rival Man Utd transfer"

groovypanda, Tuesday, 6 August 2019 09:45 (four years ago) link

Somehow I don't think when Eriksen talked about a next chapter, chugging around the Europa League with Solskjaer as manager was quite what he had in mind.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 6 August 2019 09:51 (four years ago) link

It doesn’t sound like anyone better wants Eriksen. idk, it would be a huge shame to lose him but Lo Celso and Fernandes would both be an upgrade if he continues to play at 50% capacity for another year.

ShariVari, Tuesday, 6 August 2019 09:59 (four years ago) link

late af to be at any of this shit

very disappointing window given the shit poch has put up with the past two years.

shut up

Number None, Tuesday, 6 August 2019 12:30 (four years ago) link

If no one better wants Eriksen I wouldn't be surprised to see him just sign a new contract.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 6 August 2019 13:45 (four years ago) link

Possible, but unlikely I'd say. Considering he can leave on a free next summer and e.g. Ramsey is now on 400k a week at Juve after doing the same

heard somewhere (second captains??) that coutinho's in retrospect Bad Choice to go to Barca was motivated in large part by significant pressure from nike?

gbx, Tuesday, 6 August 2019 18:36 (four years ago) link

wouldnt take the lads as gospel but the propensity for nike to influence that kind of thing would have come up before iirc

Tottenham have agreed a €70m deal with Juventus to sign Paulo Dybala, according to Sky in Italy.

apparently Utd had agreed a deal with Juve too, but it was Dybala's agent's demands/excessive wages/image rights/lack of desire to play for a shit team that scuppered things

Juve seem pretty desperate to shift him though

If he can't get United to pay his wages good luck with Levy.

There seem to be four or five playmakers/wide forwards in play with no idea of where they'll end up.
