Unlikely to be effective. If you've been following the footy w/ streams for years I don't see how that would suddenly change now. Alternatives will pop up (no pun intended), there will always be streamers in it for a couple of hundred quid a month on ad sales.

Le Bateau Ivre, Thursday, 25 July 2019 07:43 (four years ago) link

I've basically given up on streams, it just isn't worth it for the extreme unreliability and virtually guaranteed malware.

Matt DC, Thursday, 25 July 2019 10:18 (four years ago) link

unless ive been living happily with malware all year ive somehow avoided that tbh.

have you just not been watching or is there a non-stream solution you're being discreet about

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Thursday, 25 July 2019 10:21 (four years ago) link

I've just been paying and tbh most Spurs games have been screened anyway.

Matt DC, Thursday, 25 July 2019 10:31 (four years ago) link

Sky reporting that a deal for Cutrone is close now so I'll start to take it a llttle more seriously even tho apparently he really really doesn't want to come.

wtf is that young utd lad trying to take home the goat's leg? a souvenir?

Liverpool FC have submitted a bid to trademark the word 'Liverpool'

oh fuck off

calzino, Thursday, 25 July 2019 23:43 (four years ago) link

LOL let's here the Scousers justify that.

Nicholas Pépé to Arsenal for £72m seems like it’s going to happen.

Villa at full strength today, bringing a cannon to a swordfight

Lille were so fun to watch last season so a bit sad to see them splitting up but inevitable I guess. Pepe was v good indeed last season. Weird also to see fakir going from lyon so cheaply even with his slight drop off in form would have liked to see him at LFC playing in a midfield 3 in those games when the opposition is in ten men behind the ball mode.

oscar bravo, Saturday, 27 July 2019 15:12 (four years ago) link

Arsenal fans will be very saddened by the news that Ryan Shawcross has broke his leg in the last pre-season fixture.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has blocked Gareth Bale's move to China as he believes the Welshman is too valuable a player to let go on the cheap, according to The Telegraph 💰 pic.twitter.com/mggZF4fvO9

...Bale has negative value at this point

Number None, Sunday, 28 July 2019 12:59 (four years ago) link

I will exhale on Cutrone once he's here and wearing a Wolves shirt. H hasn't exactly been angling for a move away from Milan even tho both clubs want it. Intrigued anyway, he's unlikely to be a starter from the beginning of the season so there is a little less pressure on him and time for him to settle in.

34 league appearance last season, 3 goals?

Arthur Lowe & Love (Tom D.), Sunday, 28 July 2019 13:41 (four years ago) link

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that a lot of those were substitute appearances.

Arthur Lowe & Love (Tom D.), Sunday, 28 July 2019 13:43 (four years ago) link

Yeah I don't think he was a regular starter last season but that's a bit chicken and egg as far as goals are concerned. Given his age and the fact that he isn't an immediate first 11 purchase I'll trust Nuno's judgement for now.

Is that... Comic Sans?

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 29 July 2019 07:52 (four years ago) link

yeah they've had that font for years now

Number None, Monday, 29 July 2019 10:12 (four years ago) link

Must've forgotten that I knew that *shrugs*

Quiet transfer period so far, EPL wise, with one of the top bbc stories today about a possible return of Adebayor!

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 29 July 2019 10:37 (four years ago) link

Not Comic Sans though - the cross-bar on the A is too steep and goes outside the right-hand downstroke. Whatever font that is is worse than Comic Sans IMO.

BREAKING NEWS

Phil Billing has completed his medical at Bournemouth today, without managing to get injured or falling out with the medical staff. £15m fee agreed.

calzino, Monday, 29 July 2019 11:20 (four years ago) link

Here's the Real Madrid font, it's not actually Comic Sans but some are seeing a resemblance. Certainly different. pic.twitter.com/gtUrEMdbDm

Seems they have a new font every year. This was the Bale 12/13 font.

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 29 July 2019 11:44 (four years ago) link

its pretty funny that the Chinese team wanted Bale on a free.

hot dog go to bathroom (cajunsunday), Monday, 29 July 2019 11:50 (four years ago) link

tbf, they'd save Real Madrid about £85m in wages if he's not sitting on their bench for the next three years.

ShariVari, Monday, 29 July 2019 12:29 (four years ago) link

As I said above, due to his wages he essentially has negative value

They were doing Real a favour

Number None, Monday, 29 July 2019 16:48 (four years ago) link

oh yeah. that makes sense.

Moise Kean to Everton, here we go! Total agreement reached with Juventus, last details will be completed on next hours. The striker will fly to UK tomorrow to undergo his medicals and sign the contract. 🔵 #transfers #Everton #Juve

Number None, Tuesday, 30 July 2019 11:22 (four years ago) link

It's weird when Moise Kean seems like a fantastic coup but otoh it's up to £36m for a 19yo after a good season in Serie A. I don't even know anymore.

lilcraigyboi (Craigo Boingo), Tuesday, 30 July 2019 12:44 (four years ago) link

It’s an amazing deal. He looks like one of the most talented young strikers Italy has produced in years and the price is a relative steal imo. I am really surprised that Juve agreed to let him go without the €60m buyback clause.

Potentially shifting him and Dybala and keeping Ronaldo / Higuain looks really strange.

ShariVari, Tuesday, 30 July 2019 12:54 (four years ago) link

Yeah, a great deal. Everton doing well so far. Brands rarely disappoints.

For Juve though, SV otm. No idea why they're letting go of the younger hot prospects relatively easily.

Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 30 July 2019 13:09 (four years ago) link

Probably think they'll hate living in the UK and come back eventually after two or three lacklustre seasons.

Arthur Lowe & Love (Tom D.), Tuesday, 30 July 2019 13:39 (four years ago) link

They'll be trapped inside Boris's wall by then tho

Aston Villa have signed Zimbabwe international midfielder Marvelous Nakamba for an undisclosed fee - their 12th signing of the summer.

MARVELOUS NAKAMBA.

£85m for Maguire then

Number None, Friday, 2 August 2019 15:07 (four years ago) link

oh, seems it's actually 80m. Bargain!

Number None, Friday, 2 August 2019 15:19 (four years ago) link

Nakamba has like three career goals, so there may be limited opportunities for Guy Mowbray to shout "now that WAS marvelous" in that uh inimitable tone he does, but you never know

Dadjokke (Sgt. Biscuits), Friday, 2 August 2019 16:25 (four years ago) link

Personally think Maguire is better than his worst detractors allow and there's always a premium on home grown-ness. Don't see how he doesn't improve Umited

seven against feebs (Noodle Vague), Friday, 2 August 2019 17:22 (four years ago) link

oh he absolutely improves us

Shaw Maguire Lindelof AWB is more than decent

meanwhile, this Lukaku Dybala swap appears to actually be a thing. Weird
