xpost Why the hate? Well, ILE likes to be intellectual and stoners are stereotyped as morons. ILE likes to buck the trends and defy expectations, and smoking weed is very popular and is expected to be something one does (amongst young people at least).

Oh shit I have to go cut get my hair cut before the place closes.

I think supercub is right, too. But hate the playa (ie the dazed and confused stoner) not the game (ie y'know, smoking pot).

haha oops did you decide to roll another fattie instead of getting your hair cut?

oh shit. tell people to quit calling me!

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 00:11 (nineteen years ago) link

i'm such a stoner, dude bro.

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 00:12 (nineteen years ago) link

I hate getting my hair cut. Why can't they observe how it is when I walk in and cut/style accordingly? No, they have to make me look like Tom Brokaw every damn time.

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 00:13 (nineteen years ago) link

plus I just sprouted a zit on my lip and there's this totally mega super hot chick who works there.

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 00:16 (nineteen years ago) link

To help us accurately predict your potential effectiveness in the field of stonerdom, the following must be determined:

*any food allergies, particularly those involving nacho cheese and nacho cheese articifial flavoring
*your levels of entertainability & propensity for giggling
*what - if any - actions you take instinctively to correct television signal reception problems
*the frequency with which you say any of the following words: "dude", "man", "woah"

SOMETIMES ME GRAN POPS A TUTOR IN HER FANNY THEN I SUCK SMOKE OUT

GARU G, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 14:06 (nineteen years ago) link

My mild stoner, well, not hate, but distaste, can be traced back to my dumbass stoner friends in high school who got stoned and said stupid shit and thought they were saying something amazing. I associate stoners with high school, which wasn't a great time.

you're forgetting that this is all about the stereotypical "dude bro i'm soooo wasted let's go down to the 7-11 and scope out chicks" stoner, who has little basis in reality

It has little basis in fact because in reality, said stoner is saying something more like, "dude bro I'm soooo wasted, let's go down to the 7-11 and get a hot dog. And chips. Oooh, and an Icee. And nachos. And fuck, I could scarf some m&ms right now, dude, oh wait, look, they have twinkies and those little chocolate donuts that make you shit candles, too, hey man, grab me a thing of chocolate milk, will you? And a burrito..." *insert stoner laugh here*

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 14:59 (nineteen years ago) link

I know but I'm a stoner and was too lazy to type all that shit out.
But you know you go to 7-11 to scope out chicks. Admit it.
And it's a SLURPEE, bitch.

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:10 (nineteen years ago) link

wait. shit candles? eww you're a girl, stop that.

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:10 (nineteen years ago) link

I think AdamL would make an interesting stoner.

I am asthmatic, though.

"Crazy as it may seem, smoking made it go away." says my husband.

To answer your question -- no. Get a goddamn hobby.

Build model submarines.

Become a stonemason adam. The pay ain't too bad. Though the rock dust might not be too good for your asthma :(

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:44 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah, building model submarines is cool and all, but have you ever tried it, you know, ON WEED!?!?!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:44 (nineteen years ago) link

yeah dude, shit's not easy.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:45 (nineteen years ago) link

Kev and I fell into the habit of getting stoned every single night of the week, during the day at weekends too. It was costing us a fortune but neither of us questioned it, it was just what we done.

We went on holiday for two weeks and didn't smoke a thing, and when we came back we didn't bother buying more. Now I wonder why we carried on for so long, it didn't enhance anything, just gave us something to do and something to offer guests (along with tea and coffee of course)

That's been two months now without a single puff and I'm wondering if we should buy some more and get all the glorious 'first smoke in ages munchies/giggles' phenomena. I'm just worried that we'll slip straight back into it if we do though....

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 16:22 (nineteen years ago) link

it just struck me that if there's one reason marijuana should be legalised it's because everyone does it, or choose not to out of preference. people will talk openly about smoking pot. it's referenced on television with many media stars doing hash on our screens.

maybe it sounds like a dumb reason for legalisation, but smoking pot is probably next to speeding in the big book of most broken laws. isn't it time everyone stopped kidding themselves and just let it go now?

don't answer me or it'll turn into a horrible debate.

dl, where do you live?

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:26 (nineteen years ago) link

I would have thought copyright is one of the most oft broken laws.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:27 (nineteen years ago) link

and littering

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:28 (nineteen years ago) link

Is a law only broken if a person is convicted? I would have thought so from an offical statistics POV.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:29 (nineteen years ago) link

no, it should be legal cause there's no good reason for it to be illegal.
"don't do it, cause it's illegal."
"why is it illegal?"
"cause you shouldn't do it"

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:29 (nineteen years ago) link

oops: that was my mom's logic the first time she caught me getting high.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:31 (nineteen years ago) link

all my friends' moms, too. I never got caught. My mom was in denial about the bong that somehow got re-routed to my home address when I was in college. Hey wait, why the fuck was that bitch opening my mail?

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:33 (nineteen years ago) link

Maybe she was curious why your mail was big, heavy, obviously made of glass, and shaped vaguely like a ginormous cock.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:35 (nineteen years ago) link

dude bro, it was a wee little honey bear bong.

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:35 (nineteen years ago) link

My mother who has always had a penchant for weed. Neither of us smoke much these days, but she always has amazing stuff. I have a distinctive memory of visiting my mom when she was in law school and smoking out that weekend and fixing the world and shit.
