albert almora jr. hit a little girl with a foul ball during a game last month and, in addition to the obvious about it terrible for the kid, it looked like it also fucked him up pretty bad emotionally. i wandered by a tv after it happened and thought he had gotten hurt because teammates were supporting him.

I'm for netting a section or two past the end of the dugouts, but not all the way to the foul poles.

a long time ago i was nearly decapitated by a kevin mitchell line drive during batting practice at the big o -- and i was sitting well beyond third base

i mean i could have tried catching it but it was far more prudent to just get out of the way

If you are I am too. It's a good thing I can't afford field level seats in those rows because I would never want to sit behind that netting.

Splitting time between the 2 cities would be an absolute nightmare as a player… Potentially moving your family/pets back-and-forth, finding pediatricians, doctors, vets, paying rent on multiple houses, even when you’re not there. No thanks.

The Rays, struggling to find fans even as they challenge for the division lead with an exciting young team, will motivate their fanbase by playing games in a different country during the part of the season leading up to the playoffs

as someone who very much would love to see baseball back in Montreal – i'm pretty excited for this news. not as good as a team moving there full time, but I will take it.

so many people treating the tampa bay/montreal story as something that could feasibly happen instead of a blatant negotiating tactic for a new stadium in tampa
