i think theyd make the playoffs and get klay healthy in time for the actual playoffs but they might be a 7 or 8 seed and still lose the first round.

The Knicks are sort of a blank slate right now. They have no real bad contracts. If they tank next year with Durant on the books, then they're major players the following year. I like Fizdale. Dolan seems open to selling the team in the near future ... I don't know, I kind of like it. Durant + Mitchell Robinson and an otherwise empty roster ... you can build on that.

yeah Klays ACL is bad but not a career killer as much as an achilles. also 7 foot dudes with foot injures is bad. KD already missed a full year once didnt he?

xp only way that would happen is if KD has requested a trade to a certain team that doesnt have any cap space

his timeline just doesnt work for many teams any more.

really weird career in a lot of ways for KD, i don't know how he's viewed in the bay area but obv and unfairly i think outside of the bay area he's not considered to be the guy who brought GSW two more championships, he's seen as a guy who hopped onboard and happened to get a pair of rings (vv different from LeBron who is considered to have earned those rings in Miami, he just earned them in the wrong place), and he obv desires to be seen as that type of star who earns a ring as a leader and not a follower. as i said i think it's unfair and wrong without him i don't think GSW has more than the one championship with this group.

tbf that is what happened

he def hopped on board the GSW express train looking for rings. he didn't just 'happen' to get them. He was NBA Finals MVP, too.

the right move for all parties

keeping Steph and Klay long-term is smart, shooters can always shoot

the thing that happens to shooters is they lose the ability to get quality looks

wonder how this kawhi season will affect the 'load management' thing next year and into the future. seems like star players will want to play 60 games per season now.

then the nba/owners just needs to suck it up then and cut out all b2b's and cut the season down.

they would have to find a way to make that revenue up other places tho.

theyd have to have some vision re creating a better product that long term will generate more revenue per game

i mean the march madness tv deal is bigger than the entire nba season lol

owners prob wldnt go for it but its the players (who are actually played as a % of revenue not the nominal value of their contracts) who have no incentive to think long term on this stuff since their careers arent that long, tho they might be enticed by just playing fewer games
