Mccaw threepeats

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 14 June 2019 04:01 (four years ago) link

Raptors played like champions. So did the Warriors. Congratulations all around for fantastic effort on the court. Great drama. Often great hoops.

You just have to let go of all the injuries and questionable calls and just figure the team that scores the most points wins the game and the first team to 4 wins gets the ring. There's no other way to look at it that works any better than that.

A is for (Aimless), Friday, 14 June 2019 04:01 (four years ago) link

they shd give uncle dennis a ring

if Kawhi bolts for the Clips or something that has got to be the best single season rental trade of all time maybe

omar little, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:04 (four years ago) link

kawhi thinking about getting some shots up

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:04 (four years ago) link

GS fans classy sticking around and cheering

(•̪●) (carne asada), Friday, 14 June 2019 04:04 (four years ago) link

look I didn't want the Warriors to threepeat either but this was a particularly cruel way to lose

frogbs, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:05 (four years ago) link

really happy for kyle and marc.

call all destroyer, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:05 (four years ago) link

hah just remembered I bet Raps +2.5

frogbs, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:06 (four years ago) link

Local boy Jeremy Lin (Palo Alto, about 30 miles from Oakland) wins his first NBA championship.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Friday, 14 June 2019 04:07 (four years ago) link

i was thinking of you when the refs called that foul so that kawhi could hit a couple of Fts

xp

hollow your fart (m bison), Friday, 14 June 2019 04:07 (four years ago) link

Durant getting wrecked like that in G5 and Klay on crutches after this one, it really was a helluva way to go out.

omar little, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:08 (four years ago) link

Raps were underdogs so those FTs didn't matter but I admit I double checked

frogbs, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:08 (four years ago) link

if Kawhi bolts for the Clips or something...

From what little I can see into his mind, I think that will happen next season. Leonard really wants to go home to live in LA. The Clippers seem a bit better bet than the Lakers.

A is for (Aimless), Friday, 14 June 2019 04:08 (four years ago) link

Lowry's a cop but happy for the rest of the Raps.

Fetchboy, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:10 (four years ago) link

this is fucking funny

ESPN Sources: The Washington Wizards are preparing to make a prolific offer to Toronto's championship architect Masai Ujiri -- as much as $10M annually -- to run its basketball operations. https://t.co/KQf18YUkLN

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:13 (four years ago) link

I'm cut out for baseball, not that. Excruciating, something closer to relief than joy right now.

clemenza, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:13 (four years ago) link

clemenza congrats now you know how spurs fans feel a lot of the time

hollow your fart (m bison), Friday, 14 June 2019 04:15 (four years ago) link

Woj cocked and loaded lol

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 14 June 2019 04:15 (four years ago) link

hah kawhi would have been unanimous mvp but hubie voted for vanvleet

call all destroyer, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:16 (four years ago) link

i hesitate to say GSW *should* have won five in a row but their two losses were super excruciating (for them) close calls with a lot of extenuating circumstances

omar little, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:16 (four years ago) link

yup

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:16 (four years ago) link

Vanvleet was so good on both sides what a little baller

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 14 June 2019 04:16 (four years ago) link

call all destroyer, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:18 (four years ago) link

durant wouldnt have joined up if they win that second year tho so i mean they prob dont make five straight if that happens xpssss

Clay, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:18 (four years ago) link

Obviously I'm super happy for my team but it's nuts that the Warriors kept it that close despite all those injuries. Best wishes for Oakland fans who shouldn't see their franchise move away from them like that.

Van Horn Street, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:20 (four years ago) link

Just imagining Harry B instead of KD on a similar contract the last three seasons....

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 14 June 2019 04:20 (four years ago) link

Wanted a game 7 bad congrats van horn

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 14 June 2019 04:21 (four years ago) link

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 14 June 2019 04:30 (four years ago) link

So sad the season is over now. Nothing but baseball, golf, women's world cup, and a bit of tennis to fill the aching void. Think I'll leave town and go for a couple of hikes, maybe a bit of camping, too, until the world's best sport comes back.

@NateSilver538
Just watched a Canadian team win a championship in an American sport while drinking beer from a Dutch multinational conglomerate at an Irish-themed bar in Brazil while wearing a cap with a Japanese baseball team's logo. Then took an Uber home. Have achieved peak @neoliberal-ism.

Van Horn Street, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:31 (four years ago) link

So how long till Kawhi signs to the Lakers?

John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt, Friday, 14 June 2019 04:32 (four years ago) link

Hoops is a world sport now.

Steve Kerr said Klay Thompson told him on his way off the court: "Just a two minute rest and I'll be ready." Next thing Kerr heard Klay was done for the night, crutching out of the arena.
