big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 13 June 2019 17:22 (four years ago) link

just having seen him set screens for pick and pops and protect the rim and stuff he seems to have plenty of functional strength

lakers too high, raps and clips bets seem to be hedging, celts too high, nugs too low, thunder too high, LOL KNICKS

hollow your fart (m bison), Friday, 14 June 2019 16:13 (four years ago) link

lmao @ that Lakers line, guess Vegas gotta cash in on all those folks who will be betting Tiger to win every major for the next 5 years

frogbs, Friday, 14 June 2019 16:18 (four years ago) link

The goddamn Knicks get higher odds than the Trail Blazers?!

A is for (Aimless), Friday, 14 June 2019 16:22 (four years ago) link

One thing I could see happening is them dumping Draymond now. Same with Iguodala. If they know they will be bad and Klay won’t be back til 2020-21, they might just cut their losses and move them and save money and try to get a top lottery pick and future assets from trades

— Nate Jones (@JonesOnTheNBA) June 14, 2019

makes sense to me

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Friday, 14 June 2019 16:23 (four years ago) link

i dont see that happening in year one of the new Chase center tho

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 14 June 2019 16:29 (four years ago) link

it would be weird to see the Warriors be bad but it might also be the smartest play, cf. that single bad Spurs season in the past forty years or w/e which led to Duncan.

omar little, Friday, 14 June 2019 16:31 (four years ago) link

I mean if theres any NBA team whose fanbase ought to give them some leeway

frogbs, Friday, 14 June 2019 16:32 (four years ago) link

ummmmxxxxxlost control F "Timberwolves" not found

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 14 June 2019 16:32 (four years ago) link

spottie is right, they won’t go into chase with a bad team.

call all destroyer, Friday, 14 June 2019 16:33 (four years ago) link

i honestly think considering where Kawhi is at now that if the Clips get him and the Lakers remain weird they could really supplant the latter as the go-to NBA team in town (for a little bit, at least). That never even truly happened w/Blake and CP3.

omar little, Friday, 14 June 2019 16:34 (four years ago) link

Just say 'analytics' at the fans a few times, it'll be fine.

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Friday, 14 June 2019 16:35 (four years ago) link

Steph plus other guys isn't necessarily a bad team

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Friday, 14 June 2019 16:36 (four years ago) link

yeah, but i assume if they keep everyone theyll be gassed by playoff time.

hollow your fart (m bison), Friday, 14 June 2019 16:39 (four years ago) link

Trust me, I get the value of Draymond, but they need to decide if they are going to pay him in 2020-21 now, because if they aren’t, moving him now, getting assets and flexibility to re-tool when Klay healthy makes most sense. Same with Iguodala https://t.co/1kURQEMQrx

— Nate Jones (@JonesOnTheNBA) June 14, 2019

this thread is interesting, gs is on the cusp of some major repeater tax, esp if they re-sign klay (and ESPECIALLY if they re-sign KD). with KD and klay out theyll be paying over $300 mil next season for a team that will probably just barely make the playoffs

hollow your fart (m bison), Friday, 14 June 2019 16:43 (four years ago) link

oh yeah i forgot about the new arena that's a funny twist

ciderpress, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:06 (four years ago) link

dubs arent making the offs next year unless klay comes back super early, time to clean house and tank

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:31 (four years ago) link

we might get to see the draymond on another team experiment after all

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:32 (four years ago) link

they almost won last night! get outta here. a healthy steph and dray + whatever ring chasers and g league call ups is enough to get into the playoffs easy.

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 14 June 2019 17:32 (four years ago) link

nawww

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:33 (four years ago) link

in that scenario theyd def be starting the worst starter in the nba if not the two worst and then their bench my god

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:34 (four years ago) link

they shd trade dray and play steph like 25 mins a night

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:35 (four years ago) link

with lagoon on this one, theyve been used to keeping the all-stars on ice until playoffs, theyll need steph and dray to have outstanding seasons just to stick around in the west. there arent going to be many ring chasers who will take vet minimums, theyll have only the tax paying MLE to use in free agency plus their own draft picks. those two guys have a LOT of miles on them and are not immune from injury issues of their own.

hollow your fart (m bison), Friday, 14 June 2019 17:36 (four years ago) link

i mean they dug deep for one quarter last night but i dont think u can extrapolate that over an entire season, plus the load on steph in that scenario is just not what youre looking for

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:37 (four years ago) link

i'm inclined to think maybe they could adjust and get to 45ish wins and sneak in, Steph is so good. Depends on Draymond being more than the "glue" since there's nothing left to glue to. Get a savvy cheap vet or two for a year and see what happens i guess?

omar little, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:37 (four years ago) link

i think theyd make the playoffs and get klay healthy in time for the actual playoffs but they might be a 7 or 8 seed and still lose the first round.

hollow your fart (m bison), Friday, 14 June 2019 17:38 (four years ago) link

They also won't have Cousins or Bogut, probably won't have Shaun, might not be able to keep Kevon or even McKinnie ...

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Friday, 14 June 2019 17:40 (four years ago) link

playoff teams generally dont have cheap vets at their #2 scoring options

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:40 (four years ago) link

boogie said he's open to coming back but lol they can only give him like 7 million or something.

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 14 June 2019 17:42 (four years ago) link

considering the tax implications the whole thing points towards a partial tear down and one season of tanking

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:44 (four years ago) link

i guess well see if the dubs ownership are true BABs or not

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:45 (four years ago) link

occurs to me well get to see the draymond experiment whether or not hes traded

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:45 (four years ago) link

can they just let klay walk? should they? are they still close to capped without kd and klay?

ciderpress, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:46 (four years ago) link

xps i think theyd be open to a tank but maybe they should quickly announce "actually chase center wont be ready for basketball activites yet next year just concerts so uh oracle we're gonna need one more ride from you whilst we tank k thx"

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 14 June 2019 17:46 (four years ago) link

they gotta keep klay, i mean unless they wan to just totally rebuild, trade steph etc which wld be insane

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:47 (four years ago) link

they'll offer klay a max deal for sure, especially after he didn't qualify for the all-nba max.

bill simmons talked me into the idea that kd will sign a max with the knicks.

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Friday, 14 June 2019 17:47 (four years ago) link

why would they let klay walk haa

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 14 June 2019 17:48 (four years ago) link

they should simply tank, get the #1 pick, and draft tim duncan

ciderpress, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:48 (four years ago) link

the knicks maxing out a guy who just exploded his achilles and wont play again until hes 32 wld be just too beautiful

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:49 (four years ago) link

im not sure why KD would want that at this point?

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 14 June 2019 17:50 (four years ago) link

why wld anyone want to play for the knicks i mean

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:51 (four years ago) link

Klay will stay, he and Steph feel like GSW lifers. No idea why either side would want to leave the other.

omar little, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:51 (four years ago) link

there's really no pressure on him if he stays w the dubs

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 14 June 2019 17:52 (four years ago) link

the tragedy in all of this mess is the kd injury, nba lost an alltimer in his prime, its extremely unlikely considering the injury and his age that hell ever be nearly the same again

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:53 (four years ago) link

warriors dynasty flaming out in epic fashion is kinda better than slowly fading away

lag∞n, Friday, 14 June 2019 17:54 (four years ago) link
