xp i believe there are controls in place on raises/declines in contracts to prevent that type of thing.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 12 June 2019 22:12 (four years ago) link

Regardless of whether they supermax KD or he signs with another team the dubs are capped out so have only the MLE and vet minimums. His contract or lack of has no bearing on their free agency options, just on Lacob's wallet.

Fetchboy, Wednesday, 12 June 2019 22:17 (four years ago) link

you can back load the deal but only so much. but it doesnt matter any more like fetchboy says they are capped out either way. altho next year i think insurance would pay for his salary?

big city slam (Spottie), Wednesday, 12 June 2019 22:21 (four years ago) link

honestly better off frontloading the deal so when that quadruple repeater repeater repeater or w/e tax hits in a few seasons it softens the blow by a few less tens of millions lol

big city slam (Spottie), Wednesday, 12 June 2019 22:23 (four years ago) link

best scenario for the dubs wld prob be to sign n trade kd for some dece young rotation players

lag∞n, Wednesday, 12 June 2019 22:31 (four years ago) link

dont see that happening now

big city slam (Spottie), Wednesday, 12 June 2019 22:46 (four years ago) link

the dubs need to do a rethink of their roster. not that I'd mind it terribly if the dubs got worse.

A is for (Aimless), Wednesday, 12 June 2019 22:51 (four years ago) link

Curry's the only guy on the books for 2020/2021 so they certainly have options.

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Wednesday, 12 June 2019 22:56 (four years ago) link

Woj says KD's injury "will" keep him out the entire 2019-20 season. Some players have made it back in the 8-9 month range, like Wes Matthews, Kobe, Rudy Gay. So I'm surprised a return next year is already being ruled out. https://t.co/NMhYEIEMZC

I like the idea of taking the pressure off him to rush back

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 13 June 2019 01:55 (four years ago) link

8 months is still mid-february, as a best-case scenario

k3vin k., Thursday, 13 June 2019 01:58 (four years ago) link

yeah. i'm not "surprised," it seems like the right positioning for a superstar getting this injury at this time on the calendar.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 13 June 2019 02:05 (four years ago) link

they might as well say it, it's not like he can't come back anyway if he wants to. but it stops people from asking.

J0rdan S., Thursday, 13 June 2019 02:15 (four years ago) link

i think there are def still team building concerns as it pertains to paying the tax that go beyond the effect on joe lacob's net worth

J0rdan S., Thursday, 13 June 2019 02:21 (four years ago) link

yup

call all destroyer, Thursday, 13 June 2019 02:23 (four years ago) link

joe lacob shd pay his entire estate to the nba in luxury tax and it shd then be transferred to me

Bol Bol conducted a Pro Day in LA yesterday in front of approximately a dozen NBA teams, including five GMs, to ease concerns around his health and remind them of his ultra high skill-level. Bol showed why he's considered a top-five talent in this draft in terms of pure upside. pic.twitter.com/GSPF6W3FYL

bol bol breaking his foot in college is highly worrying, and hes very slender i am concerned abt his ability to withstand long seasons of physical nba play, having said that if i were picking in the bottom half of the lottery id give him a lot of consideration cause he is good at basketball something im not sure can be said for some of the guys projected to go as high as 5

lag∞n, Thursday, 13 June 2019 15:31 (four years ago) link

my fav thing about Manute was that he averaged more blocks than points for his career

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 13 June 2019 16:15 (four years ago) link

Manute's '92-'93 3P% was better than RWB has had in four out of the last five seasons.

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 13 June 2019 16:24 (four years ago) link

nba insides stuff was awesome

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 13 June 2019 16:24 (four years ago) link

bol bol is so skinny. he's gonna get worked until/unless he adds strength.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 13 June 2019 16:29 (four years ago) link

yeah and its gonna be tough cause his frame is so slight

lag∞n, Thursday, 13 June 2019 16:30 (four years ago) link

7'3" 208(!)

omar little, Thursday, 13 June 2019 16:35 (four years ago) link

hes not gonna get much bigger, not sure he can shake the genetics on that one.

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 13 June 2019 16:36 (four years ago) link

7 8 wingspan

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 13 June 2019 16:36 (four years ago) link

yeah position that guy supposed to play ?

(•̪●) (carne asada), Thursday, 13 June 2019 16:38 (four years ago) link

if he can't overcome his limitations may as well call him Lonzo Bol.

omar little, Thursday, 13 June 2019 16:40 (four years ago) link

center. small sample but he shot 52% from 3 on about three attempts per game. could he have a zinger type of game?

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 13 June 2019 16:41 (four years ago) link

zinger is a big strong boy so probably not?

call all destroyer, Thursday, 13 June 2019 17:06 (four years ago) link

zinger is very thin but has a bigger frame, has already blown out his knee

lag∞n, Thursday, 13 June 2019 17:12 (four years ago) link

zinger is both very thin, the same height as Bol, and outweighs him by 40 lbs.

omar little, Thursday, 13 June 2019 17:20 (four years ago) link

disregard the "both" for 3 traits things

omar little, Thursday, 13 June 2019 17:20 (four years ago) link

disregard the "things"

omar little, Thursday, 13 June 2019 17:20 (four years ago) link

*disregarding things*

lag∞n, Thursday, 13 June 2019 17:21 (four years ago) link

ddint realize the zinger weighed 240. guess his shoulders are more broad yea.

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 13 June 2019 17:22 (four years ago) link

just having seen him set screens for pick and pops and protect the rim and stuff he seems to have plenty of functional strength

call all destroyer, Thursday, 13 June 2019 18:00 (four years ago) link

lakers too high, raps and clips bets seem to be hedging, celts too high, nugs too low, thunder too high, LOL KNICKS

hollow your fart (m bison), Friday, 14 June 2019 16:13 (four years ago) link

lmao @ that Lakers line, guess Vegas gotta cash in on all those folks who will be betting Tiger to win every major for the next 5 years

frogbs, Friday, 14 June 2019 16:18 (four years ago) link

The goddamn Knicks get higher odds than the Trail Blazers?!

A is for (Aimless), Friday, 14 June 2019 16:22 (four years ago) link

One thing I could see happening is them dumping Draymond now. Same with Iguodala. If they know they will be bad and Klay won’t be back til 2020-21, they might just cut their losses and move them and save money and try to get a top lottery pick and future assets from trades

— Nate Jones (@JonesOnTheNBA) June 14, 2019

makes sense to me

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Friday, 14 June 2019 16:23 (four years ago) link

i dont see that happening in year one of the new Chase center tho
