Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Monday, 10 June 2019 17:56 (four years ago) link

yes their social media ppl have done a lot of wink wink nod nod at gamergaters in the past

ciderpress, Monday, 10 June 2019 18:02 (four years ago) link

It's mostly been from a community manager who was fired months after snarky appropriation of trans language and making vaguely pro-GG tweets. (Said manager then ended up at an openly alt-right place.) xp

i think it's unlikely that it was a single rogue employee but i think its also likely that they'll keep that shit out of their public facing stuff going forward so we won't ever know for sure

ubi doing that thing again where they trick people into thinking a watch dogs game is going to be good via a concept that sounds too ambitious to be true

ciderpress, Monday, 10 June 2019 23:27 (four years ago) link

FF7 remake gameplay looked...fun??? like xenoblade or tales combat kinda but with a bullet time button

ciderpress, Tuesday, 11 June 2019 01:45 (four years ago) link

God may judge you but his sins outnumber your own. (bizarro gazzara), Tuesday, 11 June 2019 08:05 (four years ago) link

ciderpress, Tuesday, 11 June 2019 09:15 (four years ago) link

I read that as you calling somebody a “savage xp”

I thought GOOIGI was making fun of some GOOGLE logo.

Luigi's Mansion, Hollow Knight sequel and Animal Crossing things in the next several months to look forward to. Breath of the Wild 2 and Metroid Prime 4 (or remastered trilogy?) things to look forward to in the distant future. Witcher 3 on Switch seems surprising, given I just watched that Digital Foundry video on how many compromises it would take to get that to run on Switch. Fortunately, I already bought it on PS4. Doom and Wolfenstein ... I'll debate which system to purchase on (better graphics vs. gyro, essentially). Some OK stuff, though!

seiken densetsu 3 aka trials of mana getting an official english release (plus a remake) is a big deal, that game's had similar status to mother 3 for 2 decades

ciderpress, Tuesday, 11 June 2019 17:32 (four years ago) link

I've never played Animal Crossing but watched other people play for a few minutes. (btw, the upcoming game got pushed to next year). The trailer + treehouse gameplay are very underwhelming. Slightly more things to do. Slightly better graphics. Is it really that hard to come up with something truly innovative for Animal Crossing?

ilm jive mind (FlopsyDuck), Tuesday, 11 June 2019 19:02 (four years ago) link

i don't think that's a goal for animal crossing, it's an iterative series. there are 10 million people who just want the game as they know it on current hardware.

ciderpress, Tuesday, 11 June 2019 19:11 (four years ago) link

i think when you die you should have to make it back to your bloodstain or you lose all your bells, sick of all the casuals shitting up AC

lol adam

my youtube post:

CaptainLorax
They need to have an option to switch to isometric (diagonal) view.

Furbyy
Why? They’ve always used this rolling hills perspective in animal crossing. It’s an iconic part of the franchise’s visual identity.

CaptainLorax
It would still be rolling hills, just a different angle.

yeah, i'm gonna have to buy that Seiken Densetsu collection out of principle. it might not even be that good anymore but it's like unearthing a lost film
