I guess that guy that pushed Lowry is going to be forced to sell his stake in the Warriors.

All I know is James Dolan might be on the look for balls being 'errantly' thrown out of bounds by his seat when he sits court side.

Got to love the Knicks for comedy, every pro league has that team that it is just fun to make fun.

Kinda weird to put the Lakers in that list, but things change.

Kevin Durant will practice today, Steve Kerr says. Then the plan is to get him some extra work in with younger players. "We'll gauge it from there...What he's going to do today, he hasn't done." An optimistic turn.

The stage is set for KD the savior

if dubs win 3 straight KD gotta win finals mvp

Even if he doesn’t play?

i'll believe it when I see it

The thought that the Warriors could come back is the only downside to this high right now. Before the Series started, an honorable showing--winning a game or two, competitive in the others--would have likely been enough for most Raptors fans. Losing now would put a damper on the whole season--Kawhi's shot, winning over the Bucks, all the good stuff in the finals so far, everything.

clemenza, Sunday, 9 June 2019 20:10 (four years ago) link

I think you’ve got this in the bag. The warriors haven’t shown they’ve figured anything out and Kerr is staying stubborn... and getting back the players at varying degrees of health can only get them so far.

big city slam (Spottie), Sunday, 9 June 2019 21:35 (four years ago) link

what wld u like to see kerr do, besides benching boogie i assume

lag∞n, Sunday, 9 June 2019 21:55 (four years ago) link

That’s it + stop giving jarebko minutes. And let Steph cook more one on one. Bringing the screens for him just adds another defender who can bump and disturb him. No one can check him let him chef. The backcutting/motion stuff works best if we have more than two shooting threats, which we currently don’t. Also kawhi has proven he can playmake so they need to stop with the constant late double teams.

big city slam (Spottie), Sunday, 9 June 2019 22:01 (four years ago) link

If kd plays and is like even 65-70% that will unlock all kinda stuff tho. Including the small lineup they haven’t been able to use.

big city slam (Spottie), Sunday, 9 June 2019 22:04 (four years ago) link

Obv just armchair coaching what do I know but he has to at least know that boogie can’t start tomorrow night. And he has to have an extremely short leash if he plays him at all.

big city slam (Spottie), Sunday, 9 June 2019 22:05 (four years ago) link

Good thread of plays breakdown of the raptors run

So I've reached the 4:29 mark in the 3rd quarter, Warriors are up 61-60 with Siakam at the line and it appears this is the stretch where Toronto takes the game.

must be doing two days for travel?

remember when the nba had like three game 7s on mothers day? maybe they should get more flexible about playoff scheduling

Clay, Monday, 10 June 2019 02:36 (four years ago) link

i've always assumed that they try not to go against the nhl finals as a professional courtesy thing and those guys had to play tonight

call all destroyer, Monday, 10 June 2019 02:39 (four years ago) link

Yeah it’s lame. The 2-2-1-1-1 sched means 3 days between games on the back end of the series

big city slam (Spottie), Monday, 10 June 2019 02:51 (four years ago) link

I guess it depends on how lame you want the players to be. At this point, everyone but the deep bench players are exhausted, banged up and running on sheer will power, if they aren't already on the injured list.

A is for (Aimless), Monday, 10 June 2019 02:55 (four years ago) link

Lame from a fan perspective just wanting to watch games. Great for players to have the extra day.

the 2 days off between venues thing is dumm imo

k3vin k., Monday, 10 June 2019 05:21 (four years ago) link

Strange thing to say (confirmed on the sports station this morning), but the general feeling here is that the Raptors have to close it out tonight. A Game 6 in GS (especially if Durant's back) wouldn't be promising, and no one wants a Game 7, even at home. I bought a ticket this morning for a new Watergate documentary this Sunday night. Supremely confident? Hardly--I wasn't even thinking about the possibility of a game. If it does come to that, I guess I eat the ticket.

clemenza, Monday, 10 June 2019 14:16 (four years ago) link

yeah Durant is a huge wild card at this point but the Warriors are a lot more hurt than the Raps are and I don't think you're gonna see KD anywhere close to 100% (if he plays at all)

frogbs, Monday, 10 June 2019 15:10 (four years ago) link

maximum drama

Kevin Durant is a game-time decision for Game 5, per Warriors coach Steve Kerr.
Interpretation: He’s playing.

frogbs, Monday, 10 June 2019 18:57 (four years ago) link

I get the feeling that the Raptors wouldn't be fazed a bit if Durant is a last minute pencil-in and he plays. Their confidence as a team is rock solid right now. I don't see them choking at all. In order to win tonight the Dubs will need to be firing on all cylinders, whether KD plays or not.

A is for (Aimless), Monday, 10 June 2019 19:13 (four years ago) link

They're 2-0 against Durant this year, for one thing

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 10 June 2019 19:25 (four years ago) link

first one was with no curry or draymond and it went to OT KD had 51/11/6

second one had no Kawhi and they smoked us by 20 but that was when they still had Dorell wright, Jonas and Onanuby was healthy so kind of a completely different team.

Feeling very queasy, like this is all a big set-up, Kirk Gibson writ large. At various points during the series, I've thought that I wanted Durant to come back, so Toronto could win and there'd be no talk of asterisks. I don't want that now. I want him to go out there for five minutes, call time-out, and walk off shaking his head: "Sorry, just can't do it."
