I often cite Pauline Kael's long review of the flick as one of the fruitful ways she kept from getting bored in 1985-1986. I like the film.

I always got this movie and One Crazy Summer confused. I know I've seen one of them, maybe both, but damned if I can remember. I'd like to think I wouldn't forget seeing Peter O'Toole in a beach party movie.

O'Toole is great in this, but also starting to fade.
There are some quality moments in it.
Williams's best line is something like, "I once knew another proud young black man. I gave him some advice: wear one glove. Just one glove. That man was Willie Mays."
The smarmy Barry and Barry played by Moranis and Levin.
Its most redeeming feature is Cliff himself, unsurprisingly. "There is a sickness in this place. And I am the doctor."
Of the songs, I like "Lion Awakes" and the Costello collab fine.
