You’re Wrong About is fantastic - two journalists take turns telling each other about commonly misunderstood events or concepts.
So far I’ve learned the real story behind
- the Challenger explosion (this one is particularly interesting
- “crack babies” (not a thing! Crack is no worse for fetuses than smoking cigs during pregnancy, I.e. low birthweight is about the only consequence of using crack during pregnancies)
- Iran-Contra (v useful since it’s been coming up a lot lately and I had literally no idea what the story was)
- “going postal”
- Tammy Faye Bakker and Jessica Hahn
I really like the format bc they’re both really articulate and funny, so it’s a very informal conversation that’s simultaneously highly educational.

Listened to a few episodes and it's fairly pleasant and informative. However, I haven't picked an episode yet where I was particularly "wrong" about anything to begin with. Done Satanic Panic, Going Postal (very informative), and Dan Quayle vs. Murphy Brown so far, but I'm going to keep digging.
Also, and again I've only listened to three episodes here, one of the co-hosts sometimes likes to blame things on capitalism without anything in the way of further explanation. It'll be like
Co-host 1: [in-depth discussion of a societal problem]
Co-host 2: Capitalism!
Which may or may not be true in whatever instance, but it's the kind of thing that I would imagine could be very alienating for listeners, especially ones who they're trying to convince are wrong about something.
