Someone else can start a 2020 thread if you think it's necessary...Saw Making Waves today, a history of sound design in the movies. Good, not great--I felt myself shutting down during the 10-15 minute Star Wars segment. Almost no one I'd rather listen to on anything to do with film than Walter Murch, though, and he talks a lot here. I liked his description of the killing-Sollozzo scene in The Godfather, where sound is so crucial: "the murder of Michael's dream of having nothing to do with his family." (Even if, strictly speaking, that dream is already over before the murder.) Good segment on the airport scene in Nashville, too.
